22.01.2022 Tweed MP Geoff Provest says he's hopeful an announcement will be made later today, that will allow people from the Northern Rivers to travel to Queensland for u...rgent medical procedures. Here are the main points from his conversation with Joanne Shoebridge on ABC North Coast this morning: Mr Provest says he's been in talks with the Queensland Government about a pass for urgent medical procedures that will "alleviate some of the real heart-wrenching stories we've heard of" He says the pass would let people attend medical appointments in Queensland without having to quarantine for 14 days in government accommodation at their own expense Mr Provest says his office has been "overwhelmed" with "literally hundreds" of people seeking clarification about the rules around travelling to Queensland for medical reasons He says discussions are also taking place to seek exemptions for medical staff who live on one side of the border and work on the other.
