10.01.2022 It is with much sadness I must inform our members that our new D grade sides leader Manoj Sharma has passed away. He was a great captain of the D grade with an infectious smile and the attitude to give everyone a go. All that played in his side loved playing for him and the side was a success because of him. After years of playing at Kangarilla the club welcomed Manoj and his side with open arms and he was nothing but a delight to work with. The D grade side were in the final...s to be played but unfortunately never got the opportunity. He had a great year with the bat making over 300 runs and always putting the club first and even putting his hand up to play in our T20 side when he heard they were going to forfeit and coming to our social events to support the club anyway he could. He always wore a cheeky grin and he loved cricket with a passion and even though he was only at the club one year, we have lost a great club man who would have been integral for years to come. We are better off as a club that we knew him for the short time we did and he will be sorely missed by the Keswick and cricket family. If anyone is struggling in life please seek help or let us know as a club so we can help you through it. We are there to help one another. Doc can get you help with professionals if it is required. Despite these results the club is still sitting in a good position at the half way point of the season. The A’s are sitting 2nd and are in a really good position to have a real crack this year, while the B grade is top at the moment. The C men are sitting 5th 5 points from 4th position. 03.01.2022 Keswick U12 Girls last game was played on 13th March, unfortunately they didn't finish the season off with a win, going down to Marion 6/75 to their 1/93. Whilst we doubled their score off the bat, again it was our extras and wickets that were costly. The runs were spread over a number of batters with Emily Mackenzie top scoring with 8 off 11 balls, Lillyana Widdison and Lilian Booij both made 7 runs, Tallis Jeffery, Ruby Booij and Rucha Parikh all scored 6 runs each. Our... only wicket was from a run out. Emily was the only bowler without any wides, with figures of 0/5. Other notable bowlers were Harmony Widdison with 0/6 and Aliya 0/9. It was an absolute pleasure coaching the girls and seeing their improvement over the course of the season. Thank you to Tash Widdison for taking on the Admin side of things and Mel Booij for scoring. Plus thank you to those that assisted with umpiring at square leg throughout the season. See more
