21.01.2022 WHAT IS KETO? Ok so your interested in doing Keto, GOOD CHOICE. Lets start with a little rundown of the basics then. To simplify and not bore you with a lot of scientific blah blah, lets say this: Keto (Ketogenic) (Ketosis) is a Dietary Plan that is Low in Carbohydrates / Moderate in Protein / HIGH in GOOD Fats. (emphasis on GOOD FATS)... Eating in this way encourages our bodies to become FAT BURNERS instead of the dreaded FAT STORER. I know it sounds a little crazy eating fats to burn fat. But by restricting sugars and reducing carbs we force the body to seek out that stored fat and burn it for fuel YIPPEE :) This process is called Ketosis. During Ketosis we make Ketones which can be detected in our urine once we have entered active Ketosis. Using Ketosticks via daily urine samples is a great way to check if you have got the ratios of the diet correct and are in Keto. I find them awesome to keep track of your progress and great motivational tool. No scales Ladies and Gents they are counter productive and you just can’t trust them LOL :) And lastly, restricting Carbs doesn’t mean restricting flavour. There are plenty of tasty real food options available that are Keto friendly. You don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen or be a qualified chef. Your everyday meals can be adapted over to being Ketogenic all it takes is a little know how and some simple food swaps. I have chosen to use Keto and keep recommending ...it to my clients because I have seen the positive results time a time again. Keto is just a simple way to eat your way to better health. Keto can suit just about everybody, Vegans, Vegetarians and those with Food Intolerances. However, those on medication always need to double check with their current health professional if Keto is suitable. Some medications will need adjusting as blood sugar levels etc can adjust during ketosis. This page is for adults who are interested in learning more about Ketosis and are wanting a healthy alternative. Through this page I will give you tips, recipes, food product recommendations, and resources to help guide you through Ketosis and to simplify that tricky scientific jargon that can be all too confusing.
