23.01.2022 Great news for Manilla with the new Namoi River bridge crossing getting underway. The $9M project will be completed In June next year and will be a safer way for traffic going through Manilla both north and south. The old bridge will remain for local traffic.

20.01.2022 FLOODED ROAD WARNING Water is starting to really build over Wallamore Road west of Tamworth. With heavier rain incoming, I would strongly suggest avoiding this road if at all possible.... If you do plan to travel on Wallamore road, please drive slowly and carefully. As always, seek the advice of NSW SES Tamworth Unit and have a look at the Live Traffic NSW website if in any doubt about driving on our low lying roads

19.01.2022 Well it’s taken a long time but today the $61m overpass at Gunnedah was officially opened with Regional Roads Minister Paul Toole. A safer crossing and easier for trucks to move through. It’s so big you can see it from space. I had the honour of being the first car across. Great for Gunnedah.

15.01.2022 ENERGY AND FUN The brand new basketball and netball courts located in Henry Street, Quirindi were officially opened today. QHS students and Principal Worley, were thrilled to attend.... The courts will stay open 24/7 to the public and all users are encouraged to look after the facilities and respect other users. MP Kevin Anderson was on hand to officiate the opening. They say, build it and they will come and this is a great opportunity for local youth and adults to continue to expand the strong history of Basketball and Netball in the Liverpool Plains. The infrastructure was funded by the Stronger Country Communities funding of $415,000.00, a significant private donation and a $160,000 Local Roads and Infrastructure Grant acquired by the Liverpool Plains Shire Council. This is a terrific drawcard for the Shire and a great outlet for the youth of our region, said Mayor, Doug Hawkins. #liverpoolplains #QHS

Thanks to Principal Chris Connor - Captains Ruby Woods, Lewis Henry and Vice Captains Ella Wilson and James Wise. Education Minister Sarah Mitchell was also very impressed.

08.01.2022 MODERATE FLOODING CAUSING ROAD CLOSURES ACROSS THE REGION Tamworth Regional Council and Live Traffic NSW have advised that there have been multiple road closures across our region leading to significant traffic delays heading west and south of Tamworth. Flooding is expected to increase over the next few hours with Calala Lane just added to the list of closed roads.... Various roads in Gunnedah, Dungowan, Duri and Nundle are also underwater. Keep an eye on the live traffic NSW website to monitor the situation. If it’s flooded, forget it. Stay home if you need to. From this weekend, more than one parent may now attend community sporting activities if physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres can be maintained between people that are not from the same household.

05.01.2022 September is footy finals and this year Covid has been a tuff opponent but sport soldiered on.. The Walcha Rams used it to finally win a premiership in the New England Rugby Competition. They cleaned up Coffs Harbour 24 to 19 to take out the Grand Final - and in the AFL it was the best day ever and perhaps the greatest year ever for the Gunnedah Bulldogs Men and Women claiming premierships after defeating the Tamworth Swans the Men 124 to 72 and Women 34 to 24. Gotta love this time of year.
