24.01.2022 I wanted to share with everyone an email I received the other day from a voter. It was a good reminder that the result of the election didn't matter as much, that the bigger picture is that we are all given a voice, and a choice. This is the basis of Democracy. What matters is that the people, groups, organisations and communities in which we represent are not just listened to, but heard, and that community should always be placed above politics. To me, this has made all the difficulties endured in the past two weeks worthwhile and humbling.
22.01.2022 Well done Telstra.. would be great to see other big corporates follow suit.. how about our Big Banks wiping 2 months mortgage repayments for Firefighters? It’s the least that can be done for our career and volunteer firefighters. #cba #westpac #anz #nab
20.01.2022 I speak for myself when I say that it has certainly been an incredible and quietly optimistic victory, in regards to the Coalition Government. I feel that there is a need for humility in our reflection, that we remember we do not just govern the country for the majority, but that the large minority whom have genuine concerns we need to listen to. It is important that we remember who we are as Liberals. We took the name 'Liberal' because we were determined to be a progressive party, willing to make experiments, in no sense reactionary but believing in the individual, his(their) rights, and his(their) enterprise, and rejecting the socialist panacea. - Robert Menzies Today is not just a victory to be celebrated , but a message on how to be better.
19.01.2022 An important announcement for customers impacted by the ongoing bushfire crisis: NAB customers who have lost their homes can immediately access a $2000 grant to... assist with their urgent needs such as food, clothing and temporary accommodation. These funds will be deposited directly into customer accounts as early as next business day. We have set up a dedicated phone line for those needing assistance. Please call us on 1300 683 106 to find out how to immediately access these grants. This is part of a $1 Million Disaster Relief Fund that NAB has today announced to help people affected by fires across Australia. NAB employees who have had to evacuate their homes can also access a $1000 grant. Other measures available to assist customers include: * Suspending home loan repayments * Credit card and personal loan relief * Support to manage regional and agri banking facilities * We have made NAB’s Employee counselling and assistance program available to all affected customers We’d again like to thank all our employees who are serving as volunteer fire fighters in this difficult time. NAB offers unlimited paid leave to emergency service volunteers, in addition to all other leave entitlements, and we thank them for their brave service - especially as some of them are themselves personally impacted by these fires. Our Chief Customer Officer, Mike Baird, has been in regular contact with our bankers and staff on the ground in affected areas and today said: I have heard the grief in our bankers’ voices as they grapple with making sure our colleagues are safe and, at the same time, are dealing with the impact more broadly on their own communities. There are horrific tales of lost homes, lost livelihoods and, most tragically, lost loved ones. Many families and businesses face an uncertain future and we want to do all we can. Customers in need of support should visit their local branch or call our NAB Assist team on 1300 683 106. In addition, any Australians who wish to donate to help Australian Red Cross’ support efforts in these communities can do so at any NAB Branch across Australia or by logging into NAB Internet Banking.
18.01.2022 Too exhausted to say much after 2-weeks of campaigning, but i want to thank all the support from the community, from voters, from complete strangers, from friends, and especially from my family. I especially want to thank all the volunteers today who helped fly the Yellow Vote Kevin flag. i’m so grateful for your help and toughing it through the day.
18.01.2022 Saying it like it really is. Well thought and well written. Kudos Drew Strnk
18.01.2022 After a crazy two weeks of Early Voting and campaigning, meeting residents, community organisations, and local businesses, answering emails and call enquiries, putting up with harassment and negative people, making new friends with political adversaries, and being continuously supported and encouraged by loved ones, it’s now ELECTION DAY! don’t forget to go out and VOTE. and if you’re in the Richmond Electorate.. VOTE [1] Kevin Tran!
17.01.2022 If you live or have a business in Richmond, this is your chance to have your voice heard on the Medically Supervised Injection Room this Thurs 25/07/19. I urge you to attend.
16.01.2022 Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the Greens Party Volunteers who have been harassing my mother, videoing and taking photos of her against her will all day today at Early Voting Centre in Richmond. After making a complaint to Greens Candidate, this intimidating behaviour continued. A formal complaint has been lodged with the VEC.
15.01.2022 This was a foreseen problem even before the Medically Supervised Injection Room opened in the area. Should not have been opened in the first place, in a residential area, next to a school, and at a community centre. Whilst the saving of lives is important, a more inclusive and consultative approach should have been part of the process. Trial is midway through, and indications need to be made clear whether this will be a permanent fixture in our community or whether it will be moved to a more suitable location away for where it is now.
13.01.2022 Local Residents and Small Businesses want their beloved Victoria Street back. The Victoria Street Traders Association launching the We Want Our Street Back campaign, to send a message to our local council and state governments that they will no long remain quiet as the local area further erodes.
09.01.2022 I have a policy for the next election, have Nauru and Christmas Island reopened and send all these Radical Left and Far-Right nutters to each island. Or stick them all on one island and they can terrorise eachother.. #auspol #problemsolved
09.01.2022 I just met with residents living around the Safe Injecting Rooms at North Richmond Community Health Centre. I understand that long time local residents no longer feel safe and that surrounding residents and businesses did not feel included or heard in the consultation processes prior to the Safe Injecting Room coming to exist. If I am elected I pledge there will be:... 1. Transparent and inclusive consultation with the local community 2. A review of the centre operations and its engagement 3. And I will look at options for a more suitable location We all deserve to feel safe and supported. Both in our homes, our decisions and local communities.
07.01.2022 Local Richmond residents do not deserve to have their homes and local streets turned into drug dealing hot spots. Local businesses are struggling, as their beloved streets are but a shadow of its former self. They do not need to put up with the harassment, and violence that are occurring in their residential streets. The location is fundamentally flawed, and the community deserve to be heard. The residents, and small businesses want the centre relocated!
06.01.2022 Having been involved in the lives of bushfire affected individuals and families, the CFA and it’s volunteer service are true Australian heroes. This is a fiasco and our volunteer CFA service deserve so much better. I am a Liberal member, and a Liberal government has solutions. Let’s take care of our CFA before we head into the fire season.
05.01.2022 Lest We Forget..
05.01.2022 When you stand up and support the community, the community supports you. So great to have the support of local Business Associations, as well as long time Richmond residents. #bringingpeopletogether #Vote1KevinTran #Richmond
03.01.2022 Thank you for the published article Nhan Quyen! The support means so much to me. I hope to make a real difference with all of your support. Voting has already opened. Be sure to Vote 1 for Kevin Tran!
03.01.2022 The MSIR is in the WRONG location and is destroying North Richmond. The article states there have been 60,000 visits since opening - that is 60,000 drug affecte...d people attending a facility immediately next door to a primary school and community health centre. this is not ok. please consider sending a comment to The Age (link in attached article) if you think the government needs to take action to find an appropriate site for the centre like Sydney. It is not near a school or community centre. ( Please see image posted for NSW Act for restrictions) You do not need to be a Richmond resident to comment on this. community safety should be about everyone in the community. https://www.theage.com.au//larger-centre-opens-doors-as-go
02.01.2022 Heritage Listing the Eastern Freeway?? what a joke.
