12.01.2022 || CARPE DIEM PRODUCTION || The District Council of Cleve is proud to announce they are sponsoring a FREE community health event which will be held at the Cleve... District Hall this coming Tuesday, 7th August 2018 at 7pm for a 7.30pm start! The production, 'Carpe Diem', stars John Wood and Chris Pidd. Wood is a is a Gold Logie Award-winning Australian actor and writer, best known for his roles as Stipendiary Magistrate Michael Rafferty in the legal drama Rafferty's Rules and as Senior Sergeant Tom Croydon in the long running police drama Blue Heelers, both for the Seven Network!! Lifeline Albury general manager and actor, Pidd, says the play would help to break down the stigma of seeking support from the community. Carpe Diem is a contemporary comedic portrayal of Australian males, dealing with issues of health, grief, loss and depression. Set in a fictional town in inland Australia, Carpe Diem portrays the friendship of Nev, a hard working farmer, and John his stock agent friend. Both, have been impacted by the long running drought and are each suffering their own personal crisis. Carpe Diem is a didactic comedy that delivers the mental health messages in a way that is entertaining, immediate and highly relevant. The production stresses the importance of mate-ship and professional care in times of crisis. Written by playwright, Megan Rigoni, the play was first inspired by the experiences of people she knows. A light supper and coffee/tea will also be provided on the night. What an awesome excuse to get together. SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THIS AWESOME OPPORTUNITY!!!
