25.01.2022 Just had Sam Erskine here for a couple of days expanding his skills and knowledge in knife making. Check out these gems he made over the time here. Keep an eye out for S.E Knives. Cheers

25.01.2022 These are knives made by students on my last knife making class. Three good mates pushing the boundaries of what can be done in a weekend. Not your average class that's for sure.

18.01.2022 This beautiful performance chef knife made with 52100 bearing steel and a handle of figured Tasmanian blackwood with Wenge is getting ready to ship to it's new owner.

18.01.2022 I made these two blades along with my student. They're beautiful knives. Forged from high carbon steel with textured flats and satin finish blades. The brisket... knife has a 290mm x 38mm x 2.5mm thick bladeblade. Handle is stabilised black wattle with American white oak spacer. The cleaver is beauty and the beast. It's approximately 190mm x 80mm x 3.5mm. Bronze collar up front with ringed gidgee handle. It's thin behind the edge so suitable for a variety of tasks in the kitchen. Both are now sold. See more

18.01.2022 Ran a pretty full on knife course on the weekend. Good fun but definitely not a standard mix. Knife course dates available from February. Weekends or mid week by arrangement. Message if interested.

18.01.2022 Just finished up this cool little skinner for a customer. Small blade and handle per the customers requirements. Scalloped bronze guard and stunning stabilised spalted myrtle burl. Might have to make a few more of these.

17.01.2022 Participated in the Creative Man 4 Hour Challenge today. Had a great time live feeding with my old mate Sausageman Forge Jamie Bishop. Forged and finished this beauty. Pushed every process of mine to get this level of finish in the 4 hours. Was doing my cut test with a minute to spare. Very happy but I think I'll go back to taking my time making knives.

10.01.2022 First class for 2021 successfully completed. Kathleen and Silvia had a great time and enjoyed the experience of making their own forged kitchen knives. 06.01.2022 Two orders close to completion. A few final touches and they'll be ready to go.

06.01.2022 Had a great weekend knife making class at my workshop. Dave and Shane didn't know each other and had never made a knife before. We all had a weekend of laughs and story telling mixed in with some knife making. They went so well I got to complete the demo knife.

05.01.2022 Treatment for my back has been really good and next weekend I'll be resuming teaching. I've been cleaning and updating a few things in the forge whilst being on "lighter duties". Today I fired up my new forge that Moosehead Knives custom built for me. The quality of this forge is 100%, great workmanship, I can't fault anything. A massive sense of relief and excitement was felt as I was tuning the new forge. I'm excited to be back.... For those looking at a great value forge check them out. They've recently added a budget forge that doesn't skimp on quality.

05.01.2022 Update from Kev's Forge: I've been a little quiet over the last month or so, particularly on the workshop and classes front. I've been having problems with a long term back issue that's prevented me from spending any decent time on my feet. Undertaking the appropriate medical checks and advice unfortunately just takes time and energy.... The positive is no surgery is required at this stage. I'm in good hands and have started treatment that is looking promising at this stage, and I've got a few leads on other medical advances. I miss teaching, it's my passion and I'm not done yet, but the likely return will be November/December. It might be sooner, it might be later. Current bookings will be notified at the earliest convenience. My order list is getting attention as I can get time in the shop. Thanks for your understanding. Cheers, Kev

02.01.2022 Classic cleaver.

02.01.2022 I feel like one of those toothpaste adds but I can't show the "face" of this knife because it's got personalised etching that the recipient is yet to find out about. W2 steel hunter with bronze guard and sambar antler handle. Sent out today. I enjoyed this build.
