23.01.2022 To all my page followers, I need your help to sign this petition in support of my industry. Last week, The Financial Services Royal Commission has concluded and released its final report. The report recommends to ban all types of commission and that brokers be moved to a "fee-for-service" model. This means that the brokers will have to charge a fee for our recommendations and not be paid commissions from the bank. Brokers drive competition between banks,creates credit access... to more Australians and are always in the best interests of the customer. However, moving to a fees model will reduce the competition as I have to charge a fee to give service to the consumers. In the bigger picture, there will be less competition between the lenders, driving up interest rates and reducing the number of lending options to the consumer. Furthermore, The fees will also drive up the cost of buying a home. This will increase mortgage repayments and that means consumers have to pay it off longer. This will make bank better off, but not the brokers and especially you, the consumer. So please sign this petition and help save the broking industry to keep competition alive. #brokerbehindyou
