23.01.2022 What a perfect day it was yesterday for our first outing down to the Kewarra Beach Resort to check out the Vintage Car Display.

23.01.2022 A great time was had today by a group of our men doing what men do best on a Friday afternoon, sitting back together having a meal, a beer and a chin wag. The food was just sensational and such a great vibe, non stop talking and smiles were everywhere, just loved this lunch Thanks Chef and the Team for a fabulous "Boys from the Bush" Chef's Table, you nailed it again

19.01.2022 At Kewarra Aged Care I see so much on a daily basis the skill set of our amazing Clinical Team caring for our Residents, from our Personal Care Assistants to our Nurses, our Hotel Services and Admin Teams, each of them performing their roles for the love and care they have for our Residents. What makes a great Team also is when our Teams work together to achieve some little highlights along the way and I am proud to highlight the collaboration of our Admin and Catering Staff... in putting together our Chef’s Table Luncheons. With Chef Carsten’s passion for food and our Admin Clerk Debbie with her design talents they have put together these lunches, transforming one of our rooms into a themed Restaurant for the day (sometimes with a little help from our Maintenance Supervisor Rory with the heavy lifting). Each Luncheon I am amazed at how beautiful the Restaurant looks and then to see the food presented to our Residents, and then our Lifestyle Team Jo and David who provide the Wait Service on the day, makes me proud to work alongside these dedicated Teams Brenda Hand Facility Manager See more

14.01.2022 Sands resident had a fabulous BBQ lunch cooked by our new Lifestyle Assistant, Zye Costello, every single resident got to taste his cooking and boy did they love it. There is nothing better than the smell of a Barbie, don't you think?

09.01.2022 DAVID CLOWRY (Physio Assistant) David has worked in aged care for 17 years and has worked in an array of positions over the years from personal carer, diversional therapist assistant and physiotherapist assistant. David moved here from Wollongong NSW with his family 3years ago, David has been with us for 1 year as a carer and lifestyle assistant and will now be the physio assistant for Kewarra aged care. David works Monday to Friday and has been trying to reduce the amount of falls and improve on residents health and fitness. . David really enjoys spending time with the residents and looks forward to making a difference in their lives.

09.01.2022 We had so much fun with floral arrangements last Friday, all of the beautiful flowers and plants were from Chef Carsten's home garden. All the arrangements are now sitting lovely on display around our home. If you have any plants or flowers that you would like to donate for us to do more floral arranging activities we would happily take them off your hands

08.01.2022 We have been a little quiet on our page of recent but we can assure you we have been crazy busy, so many activities, our entertainers are back performing for us, our religious sessions are back, we have been making lots of Christmas craft, cards for our families, Christmas Carols sung throughout the facility all day, some lovely Christmas Movies on the big screen with popcorn and ice-creams is just a quick run down of what we have been up too ! It's a wonderful time of the ye...ar and you can't help but smile and have some fun, today we had a blast at our Resident and Staff Christmas Party, we took a few photos, okay.....we took alot of photos, it was so nice to all sit down together and enjoy a lovely lunch, the smiles, the sing-a-longs with Mike our Entertainer, it's a reminder to all of us how lucky we are to share such a lovely place that we all call home, beautiful residents and beautiful staff, you don't get much better than this. A big thankyou also to Calanna Pharmacy for the lovely Christmas presents for the residents also, so kind of you, thankyou so much ! See more

11.11.2021 Joanna, Lilly, Keanu and the dog Billie donated some goodies as a "Random Act of Kindness". Joanna wrote: My family wanted to visit the nursing home to spread some Christmas Joy and do a random act of kindness. We have lived in Kewarra Beach for around 2 years, but we have no family here is Cairns. It has been a long and scary year, people separated from their family, sickness, Covid and hardships etc. We want to make some people smile.... We thought that it could be a lonely time for some of the residents and staff, they might miss their family too. I want to teach my kids to be kind and help others. We try to do a small act of kindness everyday and one big one each week. They made decorations so everyone can have one to put up in their room or on a tree.
