25.01.2022 Kew Cricket Club is thrilled to welcome Will Sheridan to the Club ahead of the 2020/21 season. Will represented Victoria 28 times across the Sheffield Shield and the Ryobi Cup, and played 13 games for the Melbourne Renegades in the BBL. 'Shero' joins us after a very successful four-year stint at Yarraville Club Cricket Club in the VTCA. "It was a difficult decision to leave YCCC after 4 amazing seasons," Sheridan said. "It’s an incredible club and I really want to thank the p...layers, the committee and the supporters for making my time there so special. "I’m extremely excited to be able to join Kew and have the opportunity to play with close mates Chris Weeks, Andrew Chalkley and John Hastings. We’ve spoken about the possibility of playing together in the past and it’s an opportunity that might not be around for long. I spent some time at KCC in a charity event last year and was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the club. I hope I can contribute to some on field success in the upcoming season." Club President Peter Sist said, "We're delighted to have a person of Will's calibre join the club. His playing record absolutely speaks for itself, but more importantly, we're really excited to add another quality person to our group. To be able to provide our young players with another role model and mentor who has achieved so much in the game is enormous for the long term future of the club. We can't wait to get started." Everyone at the club extends a really warm welcome to the KCC family to Will, Alysha and Freddie.

17.01.2022 There’s been plenty happening over the last couple of week, and Subbies Pride Cup - presented by our terrific sponsor Facilities First - has been a large part of the excitement. We claimed the cup with a strong showing against the Snowdogs but more importantly, spread the message of inclusivity right throughout the club. Our B Grade Mercantile side also wore the Baggy Rainbows on the Saturday, before the juniors came along for the journey the following week. Our coaches sp...oke to the entire U14 group about the importance of respecting each other and everyone’s differences, and the significance of an LGBTI-friendly environment. Our U12, U14 and U16 A teams also took the opportunity to display the rainbow in their final home and away games. Thanks once again to St.Bernards Old Collegians Cricket Club, Pride Cup and our sponsor Facilities First for making this happen #aclubforall #asportforall Victorian Sub District Cricket Association Cricket Victoria
16.01.2022 Kew Cricket Club is delighted to welcome Matthew Brown (Baggy Blue #441) back to the Club after an incredibly successful Premier career at Melbourne Cricket Club. Matthew joined Melbourne from Kew ahead of the 2005/06 season, and across the 15 seasons he spent at the club, he amassed over 6000 runs, played in the 2012/13 and 2019/20 1st XI Premierships, captained the 1st XI for three seasons and won the 2016/17 John Scholes Medal for the best player in the 1st XI Grand Final.... The Brown family has a longstanding history at Kew Cricket Club, with Matthew making his 1st XI debut in the 2004/05 season, and brothers Angus, Henry and Oscar all playing for the club as well. Oscar is a current senior player at Kew and was the 2020 Craig Shield captain. "It's a fantastic club and my family has great history there," Brown said. "I can't wait to embrace a new challenge and get back to the club that set me on my cricket journey. I've played with two of my brothers, Angus and Henry, at school and at Melbourne, so to be playing at the same club as my youngest brother, Oscar, will be pretty cool too." Club President Peter Sist said, "we're absolutely thrilled to have Matthew back at the club after such a magnificent career at Melbourne. The Brown name has been synonymous with Kew for the best part of the last two decades, and we're really excited to see Matthew and Oscar write the next chapter of that story over the coming years." Everyone at Kew Cricket Club extends a warm "welcome back" to Matthew, Zoe, Charlie and Alexander.

07.01.2022 Kew Cricket Club is excited to welcome John Hastings to the Club for the 2020/21 season. A Test, ODI and T20I player for Australia and a former Melbourne Stars captain, John brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the playing group. John has represented the Club at T20 level on several occasions, and we look forward to seeing him wearing the Baggy Blue on Saturdays as well. "After having a connection to the Club over the last few years in T20, and getting a taste for ho...w good the Kew Cricket Club is, and the calibre of people there, I can't wait to play a full season with them," Hastings said. "My connection obviously comes from Chris Weeks who is my best mate. We have always said that when I finished at the highest level we would have a season or two together, have some fun and try to win some games of cricket. That's an exciting thing in itself, but probably the more exciting thing will be getting to work with some young cricketers with bright futures, and to try to help them learn the game first hand on a Saturday. Having had a couple of years out of the game setting up my businesses, I am more than champing at the bit to play some competitive cricket with some really good mates at a fantastic club." Club President Peter Sist said, "John has been around the Club for a few years now, playing in T20s and supporting his mates on a Saturday. We could not be more excited to have him on board as a player for this season. John has indicated that he's really keen to pass on some of his knowledge, and I know our younger players will be eager to learn from someone who has played at the pinnacle." A very warm welcome to the Kew Cricket Club family to John and Briannan.
