25.01.2022 Kings of Keyneton . I get to wake up to this everyday now. Finally moved in to our Cottage in Keyneton. Got way too much stuff, garage sale coming soon. Moving is an enormous amount of work, and now having some relaxation in Keyneton in my final day of leave from Yalumba. The relief from having to be in 2 places all the time is great, I can now focus more on the hop growing and brewing hobbies. Lots to look forward to...

25.01.2022 Cascade hop is looking good. Will be ready to harvest at the end of February. It’s still available to purchase wet, at a bargain price. Just have to help with picking and plucking. Always good fun (guarantee it). #craftbrewers #wethopbrewing #sagreat #sabrewclub #hops #keynetonhopgarden

24.01.2022 Well that about wraps it all up for the 2020 harvest. A great crew helped with the picking of the Goldings hops. And all those Goldings hops are now in harvest brew, with the last hop pillow (shown in photo) going into the whirlpool. Not the best of yields this harvest, but certainly hope Mother Nature is a lot nicer to me this year. Looking forward to tasting another wonderful harvest beer at the Brenton and Robyn Rehn brewery on Magnolia Road, Tanunda.

24.01.2022 Cascade hops, looking like there will be a fairly good yield. Opportunity here for a brewer to have the Cascade hop harvest. Would make a wonderful wet hop brew. Expecting 10+ kg of wet hop. #hops #indiebrewers #indiehops #southaussiehops #craftbrewers #greenockbrewery #wethop #wethopbrewing #beerking

24.01.2022 Centennial and Cascade hops are looking good. Happy to see plenty of flowers developing.

22.01.2022 It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of our good friend Brenton Rehn. He has supported myself and Keyneton Hop Garden from its very beginning, and he will leave us with his legacy. Sincere condolences to Robyn and the family. RIP Brenton and thank you for your wonderful support.

21.01.2022 Not as bushy as last harvest, but quality is great. First picking the Cascade this week, have a lab analysis report and high in alpha (9.2%). Now getting profile analysis done to see if it’s true, but looking to be something pretty special. Will be doing my own wet hop Cascade/Columbus brew this week, with wet Columbus hop doing most of the bittering. The Hallertau hop will be coming off at the end of this week, and there is plenty of that. The Goldings hop is another winner this harvest, and will be the last hop to harvest. Onwards and upwards, 2020 harvest has started.

20.01.2022 Hop picking time, getting the Cascade hop plucked. Wet hop brew tomorrow. Thanks to these 2 great mates today, Bill and Jojoe.

20.01.2022 A range of beer in the Barossa Ranges

20.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing all these guys again this Saturday night in Keyneton. They will be on stage at 7pm and 9pm, at the Waterways Farm (Evandale Estate). Entry is by putting money in the donation box at the main door. That covers the food/brew, and entertainment. This is going to be an awesome show, so head to Keyneton on Saturday the 25th of January if you are up to it. Plenty of good camping area there as well. @ Keyneton, South Australia, Australia

19.01.2022 Hop Pickers required. Will commence hop picking on the 20th of February, and going through to the end of February. Enjoy sitting around a relaxed group of friendly people picking hops, while enjoying a few nice drinks. Food will be provided and all friends are welcome.

18.01.2022 Home Sweet Home, finally. Just loving it .

17.01.2022 Harvest time is a closing, 8 days from now. Been a tough one with the drought. Going for quality over quantity in 2020. This one to be a short and good harvest with some student interaction. Some collaborative beers are in the mix with this harvest, and really looking forward to seeing these craft beers out there.

15.01.2022 Some of the Cascade and Centennial hops, looking absolutely fabulous.

14.01.2022 The boys cleaning up after a big breakfast and a fun night. The food was smoking good and the beers were well above average.

11.01.2022 Brew day on Boxing Day. Brewing a 60L double dry hopped Aussie Pale Ale with a little bit of bittering. Will be show casing all the hops from my garden. This will be on tap at our Australia Day show featuring Dirtyfrank. There will be a great show of bands at this one. Looking forward to a fantastic weekend. #dirtyfrank #lowroads #sagreat #beerking

10.01.2022 Wet hop brewing, using the Columbus and Cascade hop. We have made a nice beer. Jojoe Qualter had his micro scope there and got some wonderful close up photos of Lupulin from 4 different fresh hop varieties. And also photos of hops after being used in brewing, or isomerized.

09.01.2022 La Niña promised so much but has delivered very little moisture recently, but all good if you live on the east coast. Irrigation has been a challenge, rebuilding it and fully automating it. Lucky to have old mate Bill help the garden out with some bore water, as the big dam is empty. The hop flowers are looking good and have been getting a bit of liquid nutrient. What we missed out on this year was a few deep soaks from Mother Nature. So it’s still very dry underneath and the hops have not bushed up enough. But we are still going to have a good harvest. Anyway we have some things happening on the horizon with some events and I hope you like the picture of Jojoe.

06.01.2022 Geez, we love the rain. And so says the garden. The Centennial hops here will be harvested in two more weeks. The plan is to make a Wet Hop Tropical Ale using a very sticky/resin Centennial hops that’s maxed out on the optimum picking time. The Bum Nut Cactus plants have also decided to bloom. Things just feel Dandy at the moment, specially after a lovely day of celebrating the life of good mate Brenton Rehn, now resting peacefully.

02.01.2022 Close Encounters of the Lupulin. Jojoe Qualter

01.01.2022 Centennial hops are developing nicely.
