19.01.2022 DADS... KEEP SCROLLING! I created this activity for students to work on in this week's lesson due to a sparked interest in composition with some piano students. The flu came along meaning lesson cancellations, but I'm sure some students would love to complete the activity at home! 18.01.2022 Our Little KeyNotes class learnt all about F on the piano last week! Before playing the song of the week 'Starfish', Emily, Lucas and Malakai did some fun activities to develop their fine motor skills, creativity and letter recognition! They listened to 'Underwater Secrets' by Patrick Doyle. Lucas heard fish swimming under the ocean, Malakai could hear sharks chasing them, and Emily could even hear Ariel the mermaid singing!... They practiced turn taking writing F in the sand They made F shapes with paddlepop sticks They used teamwork to build the giant piano puzzle They learnt where F on the keyboard is They learned how to play 'Starfish' on the keyboard independently They each gave a performance on the acoustic piano, and were wonderful audience members clapping and cheering for their friends when they finished Well done Lucas, Malakai and Emily!

09.01.2022 F A M I L I E S & F R I E N D S You are invited to our 'Virtual Watching Week!' Pre-covid, our classes would invite their parents into the classroom for the last week of term to perform all of the pieces they have learnt throughout the term. Progress reports and Certificates would then be presented to the students, followed by some fun parent/student activities.... With covid restrictions minimising numbers allowed in our classrooms, we will trial a 'Virtual Watching Week'. We will be filming and recording our class and will upload it to our Facebook page for our students families and friends to watch. Please keep an eye out next week for our virtual watching week performance video, and share this to any family or friends that may be interested.

08.01.2022 Welcome Aleks and Laith! These boys had a blast at their Keynotes class! They navigated the piano keyboard by building a giant piano puzzle, worked together finding all of the C notes, learnt about the special numbers our fingers have while playing the piano, played a song called 'Goldilocks', gave performances to each other on the big piano (cheering and clapping included!), then finished off the lesson with a game, reinforcing the note values of a crotchet, minim and se...mibreve. They sat up straight at the bench Their feet were flat on the floor The used nice rounded, curvy fingers to play They sang beautifully in tune with the piano We all (teacher included!) had such a fun lesson!
