25.01.2022 KLC's updated position re COVID-19 virus (23 March 2020)

19.01.2022 Many thanks to Berwick Volkswagon for assisting with the pick up and packing of food for KLC's Emergency Food Relief today. In these difficult circumstances where most of our very generous volunteers are themselves in isolation, this help was very much appreciated. KLC has now re-stocked and can organise a drop-off of food parcels to those in need in the local area - please contact KLC at [email protected] or leave a phone message at Resurrection Keysborough Parish Office (KLC's reception is currently unattended during lockdown). #KeysboroughLearningCentre

19.01.2022 It might feel a little like Christmas as KLC looks at ways it can re-open community activities while complying with the COVID19 restrictions. KLC's learning activities have been continuing using distance learning models, but these will be blended with some class-time from next term (term 3 2020) - under strict COVID19 guidelines. KLC's community programs have only continued with modified Food Relief, Podiatry and Digital Connection programs. So we are currently planning how to bring back more programs (even in a limited way). This planning is important as it is paramount that activities are safe for everyone - so please be patient as we work through all the issues. Groups will be contacted once everything is in place.

15.01.2022 Announcement on Mary Fox's retirement from KLC: KLC’s Education Program Manager, Mary Fox, has made the decision to retire, effective the end of 2020. Mary has been with KLC essentially from its very beginning as firstly a volunteer and then a staff member, and has much of the organisational memory of KLC’s journey from a very simple concept to the place it is today. Mary will always be a part of the KLC family, and we trust we will continue to have contact (when she is avai...lable) in the future. As Mary has been transitioning to retirement, KLC has had the luxury of an extended hand-over, and the opportunity to implement a restructure of positions. In July 2020, Maria Szucs was promoted to RTO Manager, and Sharon Dixon-Mason was promoted to Operations Manager. Veronica Hassett, KLC’s Pastoral/Wellbeing & Community Development Manager, will also take on some of Mary’s role with volunteers and some programs. Our sincere thanks to all these individuals for taking on these roles, particularly with all the other demands during 2020, and for Mary in her generous imparting of knowledge and experience. We wish Mary the very best for the future. See more
