15.01.2022 Another epic fail by someone who thought they knew how to install a lock. Our customer had a door replaced and the chippie who installed the door installed this deadlock. Of course the deadlock doesn't work because it isn't aligned properly and therefore the internal mechanism can't operate the bolt. It was another of many jobs where we are able to help our customers secure their home. Later yesterday evening we received a message on our answering machine. Here is what the customer said. 01.01.2022 SCAM ALERT! We have always tried to warn our customers to be wary of so-called tradies offering cheap locksmithing work. In our latest communication from the Locksmiths' Guild we were informed that they are pursuing $45 locksmiths companies who employ unskilled backpackers which have done ridiculous amounts of damage to customers property because they didn't know what they were doing, leaving customers high and dry and out of pocket! PLEASE always check that your locksmith is licenced and belongs to an industry body like Locksmiths Guild of Australia. If you have fallen victim to one of these scammers please let us know so we can pass on any relevant information to the guild for further investigation.
