24.01.2022 "Today was a Difficult Day," said Pooh. There was a pause. "Do you want to talk about it?" asked Piglet.... "No," said Pooh after a bit. "No, I don't think I do." "That's okay," said Piglet, and he came and sat beside his friend. "What are you doing?" asked Pooh. "Nothing, really," said Piglet. "Only, I know what Difficult Days are like. I quite often don't feel like talking about it on my Difficult Days either. "But goodness," continued Piglet, "Difficult Days are so much easier when you know you've got someone there for you. And I'll always be here for you, Pooh." And as Pooh sat there, working through in his head his Difficult Day, while the solid, reliable Piglet sat next to him quietly, swinging his little legs...he thought that his best friend had never been more right." A.A. Milne It's a challenging time for us all right now. Sending thoughts to those having a Difficult Day today and hope you have your own Piglet to sit beside you

22.01.2022 When our little humans struggle with big emotions, saying that they're 'just having a tantrum' is as dismissive ... as someone saying that we're 'just hormonal' or that we ‘just got up on the wrong side of the bed’ when we’re hurt or upset or struggling. It minimizes very real feelings and hurts and frustrations and needs. All of us struggle at times. And all of us, big and little humans alike, need to be heard, seen, understood, and supported. We can't solve every problem our children face, but we can love them through their problems. We can't eliminate all of the hurt and disappointment they will inevitably encounter in life, but we can walk through their hurts and disappointments with them. We can't make everything in life okay all the time, but we can be there in the not-okayness and let our tiny humans know that it's okay not to be okay, and that they don’t have to struggle alone. -L.R.Knost Raising Humans Kind: http://t.co/T8goym3P6Z Please respect the work of authors, photographers, and artists.
