25.01.2022 Architectural mouldings will enhance the look of any facade and give it a more interesting appearance. We supply and install lightweight mouldings made from AAC ( Autoclaved aerated concrete/Hebel) which are strong and durable.

25.01.2022 Texturing ceilings at the new DFO ( Zushi Bento box shop) at Perth Airport. Great fun doing it wearing a hard hat, safety glasses etc and working from a Scissor lift...

24.01.2022 Another small reno came to an end! Client wanted to extend bathroom and get rid of wasted storage space, so: - Install additional support beam in roof and demolish wall -Brick up new wall, render & plaster -Fit storage cupboards, scribeboards and matching cornice ( old one was imperial size Westcove which is not available anymore, but we can match it with a plasterglass one!)... Voilà! See more

24.01.2022 Somebody loves our texture coating!!!

23.01.2022 Our latest restoration project, in Fremantle, which we finished today for the Roof and Wall Doctor. The ca 1910 built cottage had its original windows replaced by square ones in the 1950s! We removed them and installed new timber sash ones. All corroded arch bars were replaced with new galvanized ones. Once the cement render was removed most of the soft bricks were in a very poor condition and had to be replaced. We then repointed the limestone using NHL lime and Tuckpointed all brick quoining. The window sills were handcrafted on site by us. Now this beauty is ready to stand proud for another 100years or more!!!

23.01.2022 Another job finished this week. The exterior walls of this steelframed kit home are made from sprayed Hempcrete, applied by the Hempcrete Co. We used a 3 coat Tradical lime render system with fibreglass mesh on the outside. A similar basecoat render finish was used on the inside but topcoated with British gypsum Multifinish for a smooth finish.

22.01.2022 A snapshot of some render projects we did in the last few years

22.01.2022 Open up your living area!! We have just completed a small reno where we removed 2 1970s arches and plastered over very rough quartz bricks! A fresh breath of air.. no more "Italian Delight" Btw we used the Thorhelical system. NO STEEL LINTEL Required!!! Please contact us for more info!

21.01.2022 Our new flyer to promote lime render over sustainable building methods like strawbale or hempcrete

21.01.2022 Here we go again! Tools down for the rest of the year! We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !!! Thank you all for following this site during this year. 2020 was a very busy year for us and we have some exciting projects lined up for next year! Bring it on!!!

21.01.2022 This week weve finished a restoration job on a heritage cottage in Wagin for the RWD. After render removal we had to restore badly fretted brickwork and colour wash it to match existing. The granite rubble walls where repointed with Tradical NHL lime in grey. The front elevation was matched to blend in with existing pointing. This is very common style seen on heritage buildings in the Wheatbelt where white lines are painted (not tuckpointed!) on.

20.01.2022 We finished the scratch coat of Lime render on our first Hempcrete job today. This building is also one of the first Hempcrete houses being built in Perth. Final coat will go on in about 3-4 weeks. Fantastic walls to render,Hempcrete WA did a great job pouring these walls!

18.01.2022 Another project came to an end! Acatex trowel on tinted Dulux "Gnu Tan" & painting of all eaves, gutters, fascia, soffits etc. All wrought iron got spraypainted in matt black .

17.01.2022 Keystone Plastering has completed the restoration and part rebuild of the Clocktower at Clontarf Aboriginal College this week. The work was carried out for the Roof and Wall Doctor under Supervision of Heritage Architect John Taylor. The iconic 8m tower was built by the Christian Brothers in 1938 and is a solid, insitu concrete structure which was rendered over. After close inspection and consulting Engineers, the top of the tower was considered to be unstable and unsafe. The... top section was demolished and we removed approx. 7000kg of concrete, some of the walls were over 30cm thick.... For the rebuild,we suggested to Architect & Engineer the use of AAC Hebel blocks and Fibre Cement sheeting for the Pyramid roof. The use of these lightweight materials greatly reduce building time, weight and cost. We were able to save the original feature arches and reuse them. The whole structure was coated using Rockcote PM100 Polymer Cement render with a Fibreglass mesh embeded into the 1. coat. For ultimate protection we topcoated with 2 coats of Armourflex Membrane. It was a very interesting project for us and a great challenge to find the right solutions for the rebuild. See more

17.01.2022 Thistle Multifinish is now our preferred product for all our setting/skimming work. Its perfect for renovations as it allows for a superior, durable hard finish with minimal waiting times between coats and painting.Time to freshen up up those dated face brickwalls!

16.01.2022 We started this one in South Perth on Monday. Old and weathered painted sandfinish render, about 680m2. After high pressure cleaning and patching, we have applied 1 coat of Solvent based primer and 1 coat of Acrasand as a base/tackcoat for trowel on texture next week. Will keep you posted once finished!

16.01.2022 This week we discovered a pine beam which was attacked by termites... The structural beam was pretty much hanging there, supported only by the plasterglass lining... We replaced the beam with a treated LVL one and cladded it with plasterboard. All good now, lucky we picked it up during a reno we are doing.

16.01.2022 The team from Keystone Plastering rendered and installed Aerostone mouldings to this house, currently for sale, in Kelmscott a few years ago. Cement rendering will increase the resale value of a property by 10-15%, in some cases even higher. This property had 1960 style commons & chocolate bark face bricks... The external rendering gave it a contemporary and elegant new look. Please contact us for further information and a free quote

16.01.2022 We used Genroc render & texture on this make over in Mount Nasura. Fantastic WA made product! The pre blended polymer render is one of the best in the market. In just 2 days the whole back was rendered and texture coated, without the need for cement mixers, sand delivery, piles of wastage etc. In and out, no mess!

14.01.2022 A reno we did this week. Removed load bearing walls and old ceiling, added roof support beams and bricked up load bearing brick pier. We fixed new ceiling and plasterglas cornices, replastered old walls with multifinish and installed Ovolo feature corner beads on pier.2 men , 5 days not bad...If you need more space, please contact us!

13.01.2022 No job to steep for us..... We couldn't get a cherrypicker in to tuckpoint this chimney in Fremantle for the Roof and Wall Doctor and ended up using "Skyhooks"...(note: safety 1.!!)

13.01.2022 No job to steep for us..... We couldnt get a cherrypicker in to tuckpoint this chimney in Fremantle for the Roof and Wall Doctor and ended up using "Skyhooks"...(note: safety 1.!!)

11.01.2022 Any colour? Yes, any colour we can do! Like this acrylic render tinted in Dulux "Tropical Moss" we have applied over Harditex sheeting at Araluen estate in Roleystone.

11.01.2022 Last weeks job in Leeming. Render and texture with feature Limestone render panels. We also boxed in timber beams on garage with FC sheeting and textured over to give it a solid masonry look.

11.01.2022 Our essential entertainment officer decided to go into early retirement today, after only 10 years of service! The new one is a perfect candidate and super keen. But we dont think he realises what hes in for....

10.01.2022 Our team has spent the last couple of weeks in the Wheatbelt town of Southern Cross doing restoration work at the Yilgarn History Museum for the Roof and Wall Doctor. The 127 year old building required extensive crack remedial repair work done both on the in and outside. We gave the building a fresh look by repainting the whole exterior incl. windows and doors. On the exterior walls we used Porters exterior limewash. Alltough the museum is 390km away from Perth, it is well worth a visit! There are many interesting displays on gold mining & prospecting and life in the past.

10.01.2022 Exterior render of Perths first Hempcrete 2.storey addition completed this week! The two coats of Tradical lime render were sprayed on by The Hempcete Company and finished by Keystoneplastering. Great to see a sustainable building material being used on an addition of a period home in Subiaco, by Weldon Construction!

09.01.2022 More limestone work over the last 2 weeks. These natural earth blocks weigh 100kg each and are heaaaaavy to lay... we lifted 26t of blocks only on this job!

09.01.2022 "Variation is the spice of life!" We built this studwall in front of an existing brickwall as part of an recording studio at the Bodhinyana Buddhist Monastery in Keysbrook. The brickwall was covered with 4kg/m2 Mass loaded vinyl, then we built a 92mm studwall and installed 90mm Rockwool accoustic bats. The final cladding are 2 layers of Gtek 10mm Soundboard. We also installed a 2.solid door. These specific selectedl materials will help to get the rooms ready for "the battle of the bands"...

09.01.2022 Finally finished this job in East Fremantle today! Needs a bit of patience to do repointing in the wet winter months... limepointing on main walls and tuckpointing of limestone foundations. Im not big on tuckpointing foundations, but this is what they had originaly. We also replaced the old weatherboard lining with Western red cedar. Will last another 100 years ! Looking foreward to the next jobs, all internal plastering and ceilings..

09.01.2022 We have finished our Beaconsfield job for our Heritage restoration builder, The Roof and Wall Doctor, today. Client is very happy with the outcome (so are we...)! We recreated a limestone face using our own limestone render mix and pointed up to match existing. The brickgauge of the front extension didn't match in with the original and had to be changed.( This can be done when tuckpointing) We also replaced the heavily corroded archbar above window with a new galvanised one and installed a new damp proof course. The new front jarrah decking compliments our work and this home is back to it's former glory!

The firebaked handmade bricks were raked out and repointed with limemortar.

07.01.2022 In 2005 we did some renovation on this property in Mount Nasura and 14 years later the new owners got us back to do some more work. This time in the pool area. 240mm Carabooda Quarry cut natural limestone blocks with capping. Lucky that we have the same phone number for 22 years!

06.01.2022 We have completed the preservation work of the Fremantle Ice works factory for one of our prefered builders, The Roof and Wall Doctor. After extensive preperation work and crackstitching using Thorhelical Helical bars we have applied the Dulux Acratex system with the 968 Elastomeric membrane as a topcoat.

06.01.2022 We went back to the Beaconsfield job and gave the garage front a makeover so it matches the house facade. By far the biggest arch I have ever tuckpointed!

05.01.2022 Another one done... Dulux Acratex acrylic render finish over old painted render. We also repainted all eaves, gutters and downpipes. Please contact us if your property needs a makeover!

04.01.2022 A restoration job we did in Beverly last week. Rising damp caused some problems and also the 100+ old cottage had a lot of cement mortar patching which caused additional fretting of brickwork.

04.01.2022 Today we are having a look at some restoration work on the farmhouse at Erregulla farm in Mingenew (22000 ha!) for the Roof and Wall doctor. 840km round trip today... no job to far!

04.01.2022 Over the last two weeks we've been busy with this one in Applecross! 5 years ago we rendered & texture coated the main house (the one the right hand side of garage ) and rebuilt boundary fence with feature limestone render. Last year our client ( we've been doing work for him since 2000!!) decided to add a two storey "granny flat".... About 15 m of brick fence had to be demolished before we could build a limestone retaining wall & new boundary wall with piers, which was lime...stone rendered and clients feature wrought iron art work was incorporated. We reinstalled the double gate and poured the 12.5 m long concrete track for the sliding gate. All ready now for paving & gate installation! Note: The slopping ground on this site made the layout for sliding gate very difficult and was all done to clients specifications ( gate will only be used for emergencies as main entry is around the corner...) 02.01.2022 Finished this Mediterraenen style Outdoor fireplace in Mount Nasura today. The area had fully grown Palm trees and Yuccas. We removed about 4m3+ of soil and mulched trunks, before we poured footings and bricked up the seat & fireplace. Handmade tiles were inserted into the render to enhance the style and feel of this project.

02.01.2022 You never know what's behind a cement render.... This week we have started our newest project, the restoration of the front facade on a house in Beaconsfield, built in 1898. It seems that a brick living room extension was added during the 1920's or 30's, which make things awkward because the owners like the original limestone & brick look. But we are up for the challenge !

02.01.2022 Crack stitching of internal and external brick walls using Helifix or Thorhelical system.
