23.01.2022 What a great group of clubs in the Riverland. I was in Berri on Monday night presenting a workshop on Volunteer Management to not only sporting clubs but also community groups as well. They were dedicated and passionate about their clubs and I wish them all the best in growing and supporting their volunteers.

12.01.2022 Thank you to all the participants who came out tonight to listen to me talk about How to Run a Meeting hosted by the City of Playford Council. The session was aimed at sporting clubs to better equip them to run AGM’s and general meetings. Meetings take up so much of our time and sometimes you leave them feeling like nothing was achieved. The workshop looked at why we have meetings, legislated requirements under the Associations Incorporation Act 1985 (SA), the role of the chairperson, secretary and treasurer, how to handling difficult people at meetings, how to move motions and elect office bearers. Thank you to all for sharing your stories and contributing to the discussions.

10.01.2022 Thanks to Wendy Carter and the team at the Football Federation of South Australia for asking me to present at their Club Development Conference today. It was a lot of fun meeting all the clubs and having the opportunity to share idea and hear what great work the clubs are doing to recruit and retain their volunteers.

05.01.2022 What a great idea to recognise your volunteers and support local artists. This football club commissioned a local artist (https://www.facebook.com/AnnasArtAdelaide/ ) to custom make resin chopping boards and coasters in their club colours and presented them to their volunteers at the end of the season.

04.01.2022 Thank you to the wonderful clubs and community organisations from the Renmark Paringa Council region for coming out last night to hear me talk about "Getting the Most Out of Your Volunteers". Volunteers are the lifeblood of sport in Australia. I presented the main findings of the Australian Sports Commission's Volunteer Market Segmentation for Sport Participation - Volunteers 2012-2013 Research and introduced V-Star (Volunteer Management Resource) developed by the Office for Recreation and Sport. It was great opportunity for clubs to network and share strategies on how to recruit and retain volunteers. Thank you to Hayley and team at the Council. #volunteering #sports

01.01.2022 FREE Course for Sporting Clubs: How to Run a Meeting Wednesday 29th August 2018 @ 6:30pm - 8:30pm Meetings. They can make us feel uplifted and motivated or they can make us feel frustrated, deflated and like it was a complete waste of our precious time. Running a meeting is an art and it requires a chairperson to truly understand the purpose of the meeting, facilitate discussions and keep things on track so the purpose can be achieved. This workshop run by Kat Ingram of Keyst...one Sporting Solutions, will look at the purpose and components of a meeting, roles of attendees, meeting procedures, how to run an effective meeting (including an AGM) and tips and hints on getting the most out of your meetings.
