17.01.2022 Buttercream icing with beetroot powder This was my daughters birthday cake for her party on the weekend. I always look forward to making my kids birthday cakes each year and love a good challenge but this year due to no power for 5 days I had to cheat a bit and I bought 3 mudcakes from iga and decorated them. Funnily enough my daughter told me the cake was too sweet but the icing was delicious. I also always try to avoid using food colouring etc in my cakes. ... This buttercream icing was made in the Thermi just using the basic buttercream but I added beetroot powder to it to get the pink colour, was so happy with how it turned out Definitely not my most impressive cake but my daughter was stoked with it. 11.01.2022 ZEBRA BUNDT CAKE I'm feeling very blessed that the cyclone left us basically untouched. When I heard the cyclone was coming I knew this would mean no power for days so I got prepared and did some baking! I whipped up this zebra bundt cake for my daughters birthday and it was definitely a winner ... This recipe is from cookidoo and I love how there is little videos on the Thermomix that show you what to do on some of the steps..... I did take a video to show how it plays the video on the Thermomix but couldn't figure out how to edit the sound to drown out my kids in the background If you have cookidoo be sure to search Zebra Bundt cake. 08.01.2022 We have had no power for 4 days now and been running off the gene.... thank God the Thermomix can run off our gene So I've still been able to cook us some quick and delicious meals and snacks we won't be without power much longer!
