What is the Australian Apprentice Wage Subsidy?... The Australian Apprentice Wage Subsidy trial aims to support apprenticeships in skills need occupations in rural and regional areas and encourage participation in apprenticeships by employers who have not previously engaged apprentices, as well as re-engaging employers who may have disengaged from the system. Who is eligible for the Australian Apprentice Wage Subsidy? Employers who employ a new worker Australian Apprentice undertaking a full-time Certificate III or IV qualification that leads to an occupation listed on the National Skills Needs List in a rural and regional workplace. The Australian Apprentice must be employed under the relevant Award (modern award) for their occupation. The employer must have not previously employed an Australian Apprentice or have not employed an Australian Apprentice in the three year period prior to 1 January 2019. The employer must also meet all other eligibility requirements under the Australian Apprenticeships Incentives Program. www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au.

05.01.2022 Working Together A big welcome to Edmond Smiler who is a former green army participant who has now signed his traineeship contract with KGT Employment and Yanunijarra Aboriginal Corporation. Edmond is working with the male Ngurrara ranger team and he will continue to work on completing his Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management. Edmond is also working with Norforce in Fitzroy gaining more skill sets and will be managing both jobs while completing his training. ...Field Officer Renae also got to meet with the women rangers and their coordinator to hear about the amazing work they are doing with engaging with the youth of Fitzroy. Their program includes various projects including writing, working on plant and seed books, learning stories about country along with amazing art projects. This young female ranger team are aiming for the stars and proving once more how important working out on country is. See more

03.01.2022 Rene Harbers did a trip down to the Purnuluulu National Park last week, to do a site visit with trainee Kolya Sampi. Update below. Kolya Sampi is back at it with the 2018 Purnululu National Park Tour Guiding with the Bungle Bungle Savanah Lodge. (BBSL)... The BBSL is such an amazing place and we are sure Kolya will impress this year again as he did in 2017. Kolya is undertaking a certificate in Hospitality with NRTAFE as the RTO. We wish you all the best for the busy tourist season ahead Kolya, and we thank BBSL for providing the best workplace with this pristine UNESCO World Heritage listed area.

01.01.2022 Congratulations! Cassandra McGinty recently completed her traineeship HLT40213 Certificate IV Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care qualification. Cassandra completed this through KGT Employment, in liaison with Wunan Foundation / Kununurra Medical as a Aboriginal Health Worker. Cassie's story is an inspiring one, throughout the traineeship she faced many challenges however she overcame them and went on to win the most improved student award. Good luck in your future career within the health sector, we are all proud of your achievement! KGT Team!
