20.01.2022 ...oh if anyones wondering, 's Khimaera as usual this Saturday, and every other show we have until they strip my cold dead fingers from the superstructure of the Wasp Factory. This Sat. Neglections, Morgan Freeman, the mighty Slug and to much local fanfare, The Paul Kidney Experience. Drones and surveillance equipment are welcome, aren't they Everybody? In the words of Poison, the Great Crossdressing Metalrockers from America, We Ain't Lookin For Nuthin But A Good Time, And It Don't Get Better Than This....

19.01.2022 ....so the unpacking is almost there, the animals are settled, just need to finish the build...soundproofing, gallery walls,....we could actually use some help.... nothing too hefty, just some extra hands....then we can get back to the making of fuckart/crafts and community...who will help us bake this bread?

15.01.2022 ...whilst that headwrapping, clownmakeup smile was smeared all over me last night during ...All Of the Bands, i actually tried to remember when i first experienced that smile, cos it actually hurts your face the next day, like a sore neck from headbanging or blisters from dancing. It was when I was 7, there was some Kids Health Awareness group ( they were actually cool, like George Clinton meets Mr Clean with Octopad synth drums, the bassplayer had Bootsy style sunnies)I coul...dn't help but Smile, my face hurt so much......My face hurts so much. Neglections raised the devils, smacked em around a bit, then Morgan Freeman decimated them back into dust. It felt like it must have when people first saw Chokehold do their thing...."it's not not punkrock, but it's definately not metal...".... I can't believe it's taken this long to get Slug, but we finally got em and I think that was my favourite Slug set ever,like faith healers with blow torches and welders, truly sublime in their execution of the Rock And Roll. The Paul Kidney Experience is just that, an Experience. I had an incredible one. Aside from being some of the loveliest, most genuine people, they brought the Trip, hard and medicinal. This was both familiar territory and a strange land, which made me realise,whilst i was pondering my smile, Paul is inherently Lismore and Lismore is inherently Paul Kidney. Thanks for coming back Paul, thanks for bringing your band. Happy First Year Wasp Factory. My face hurts So Much. See more

14.01.2022 ....ok, just to clarify, we are still going to be active as the Khimaera Collective, and this is not because of Council (although i probably should say it is, as I know Council Compliance Officer Mr Graeme Bailey, has been surveying this page). When we started this space, we had particular ideas about what we wanted to do and due to local need, we shifted our focus somewhat. We're getting back to what we initially wanted to do, 's all....

10.01.2022 ...ok , THat was an awesome night....SPANX are firmly planted as the Soundtrack to this Summers Road Trips, "Love Rag" is gonna be goin thru my head for the rest of the week...The Raygun Mortlock effect seems to be gratuitous Rock induced goodtimes coupled with high volume and broken gear, that's....Sweet....when Lismore locals hear a band's called Plight of the Mystic Dugongs,...well , let just say, everyone seemed stoked they weren't a folkrock reggae band, the heavy as fuc...k riffage didn't seem to hurt either, nor did the machine gun drums. ....watching Black Island was like going into some alternate dimension back in time, where the young Beasts of Bourbon were fronted by Warren Ellis, but stripped down to the gore, without the modernist obsession with self annihilation, just pure drive to move lots of air and arses. ...and there was dancing! Thanks Everyone that came, you guys all rock, it's because, for You. 08.01.2022 ...talkin to the Film Sharks about dvd compilations and New Heavy Cinema, talkin to Ben Smithard about New Musical Instruments( actually i thinked i talked at him...sorry Ben), talkin to Missy about recording and the importance of acoustics, talkin to Aaron the Pirate about comedy skits and recording muscle cars and hot rods, .....and I keep getting ideas for instruments, the Crystal Strobe Dagger, the Glass Dodecahedron....etc....

05.01.2022 ....we're moving!.....Death to the Wasp Factory,Long Live the Wasp Factory!

05.01.2022 ...it's time to go public, if only for my own mental health. The Khimaera Collective has been notified by Lismore Council that they intend to kick us out of The Wasp Factory, based on misuse under a Light Industrial Zoning. This has nothing to do with our Landlords, People truly worthy of stately titles, they have nothing to do with our activities aside from owning the building we conduct them in, we send our deepest Respect to them. However, we intend to fight any and all at...tempts to shut us down, not just from some sense self preservation, but because our Community has shown not only it's approval and support, but that we represent an important part of Lismore, just as many spaces like us, here and all over the world, do for their communities. We will need your Help. Any and all support, from writing letters to the Office of the Compliance Officer, the Mayor or any member of local, state or federal government to talking about us when you're on the radio, newsfeed, twitter, internet radio, whatever....we're going for a Radical shift in how Goverment views and treats the Creative sector, basically a Let Us Save Us All with the Arts. A culture-led recovery from an era of uncertainty and apocalyptic world views is not only possible, but is already happening, I'm going to argue that They should just Let Us Do Our Job. See more
