18.01.2022 Hi everyone! My name's Amy and I'm a year 12 senior leader at Kooringal High School. When I'm not spending time with my 2 adorable cats, or my younger siblings,... you can find me reading, dabbling in art or performing on stage. These passions are what will keep me going through this last year of high school. I would like to say good luck to all those in year 12, and would like to remind you that you've got to stay true to yourself, no matter how hard things get. Just remember that in the end, you've got to do what's best for you. Go grab that coffee that you've been hanging out to get, or go buy that really nice shirt you've got your eye on, or maybe it's as simple as going for a walk outside. Whatever it is, only you can truly look after yourself, and sometimes you just have to put yourself first. If you're ever having a hard time, just know that there is always someone there for you to talk to (I'm here too!!). As a person who has had to overcome many challenges, I know that sometimes you feel like you're all alone, but just remember that you're not. And because its school holidays , it is time to get out and about. I know that I'll practice my script for an upcoming production, read a good book and even treat myself to Gelato while hanging down at Wagga beach. Stay true to you. That's all for now awesome people! Stay classy :) -Amy O'Halloran See more
17.01.2022 Today some of our Year 12 students participated in a workshop with David Bardos from Armdriverina. The workshop was a wonderful and empowering self-defence course that encourages both men and women to consider issues of safety across a range of scenarios. The workshops were highly engaging. KHS would like to thank David for his time.

13.01.2022 THERE'S MORE TO SAY AFTER R U OK?' 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. In the lead-up to R U OK?Day this Thursday we’ll aim to help KHS students know what to say when someone says they’re not OK and guide them through how they can continue a conversation that could change a life. Something bright to start your day https://www.youtube.com/watch

11.01.2022 My tip for anyone who might want to start an R U OK? conversation is to just do it. Take a deep breath and ask the question. You don’t need to have all the ans...wers. Just letting that person know that you care and that they are worthy of being cared about is sometimes enough. Have the Lifeline and Mental Health Line numbers stored in your phone or wallet, in case you feel it’s out of your depth, but most importantly just listen and be there for that person. R U OK? Ambassador Lisa Nichols shares her tip for starting a conversation that could change a life. #theresmoretosay #ruokday #ruokeveryday
10.01.2022 Hi everyone, my name is Sophie Fawns and I am one of the school captains at Kooringal High School! If I’m not at home cuddling my dogs, you can probably find m...e at the netball courts playing or shooting hoops! A bit about myself, I love to hang out with my family and friends and I love to stay active through a variety of sports and exercise (excluding running). I play the piano and have a passion for food! Through the past year, I’ve learnt to never take opportunities for granted. Three weeks before lockdown, I played a pre season game with the NSW Swifts which was an amazing experience that I’ll never forget! After the game, I realised that I may never get another opportunity like this again, and with the pandemic it seemed even furth away till I would play netball again. At Swifts training, we would always say something we were grateful for, and at first I never thought much of it until I realised just how many things we take for granted. During this time, I also learnt that I was ok to ask people for help. There is always someone out there who wants to help you, and that will always support you. When juggling my school and netball, I reached out to friends, family and teachers and everyone was so supportive and I learnt that you don’t have to put pressure on yourself when you can ask people for help. If there is one message that I would like to spread to the community, it is to start every day with something you’re grateful for and to reach out if you need help. Even reaching out to other people if they need help, it could make their day and you never know what someone is going through. Sophie xx

08.01.2022 Would you like to be apart of the SRC in 2021? The SRC also informs its peers of any important information which affects the student body. If this sounds like you, please have a chat to Mrs Ritchie.
