24.01.2022 Thanks for care and concern that's flooding in from near and far. Kiah Ridge was impacted by fire. This morning neighbours advised that buildings appear to be in tact. However there continues to be spot fires and new outbreaks of fire, with crews continuing to work on the ground and from the air. Power and water supply has been disrupted to the site, and we trust that our large water supply tank and swimming pool have been a helpful resource for fire fighters. ... It is not yet safe to return, with road closures in place and active firefighting still ongoing in our community. It is likely that the site will remain closed until threat of fire has well and truly passed, access ensured safe, and services restored. This will likely be beyond a few days into weeks. It saddens our community to see so much loss. We are grateful for those that leave their safe places to reach out to those in danger, help those in need, and provide a sense of hope. Please continue to pray for those that are working to protect life and property and ease the suffering of so many. Pray for our team that live in different areas of the Wollondilly who are also grateful for being safe, and also facing other challenges.

19.01.2022 I've seen fire and I've seen rain...

14.01.2022 It's a different GOOD Friday here... We're missing the Youth Camp we have hosted for many years. We miss their enthusiasm, creativeness, noise, energy, activity, worship, music, teaching.... We miss the way that each Easter Camp, they adapt their program, consider different ways to engage young people with the Gospel, and share the message of Hope that Easter brings with a young generation. ... But we are encouraged because we know that whilst they can't go on camp, they're using their well practised Easter Camp skills to continue to reach and engage with young people. And we look forward to the day that they will return and continue to #bethechurchthatgoesoncamp. Bring on the smashed avo on toast, colour runs, foam dance parties, inflatable ninja courses.... whatever you dream up, we'll be ready. It's different today, but it's still a GOOD day. Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

13.01.2022 We're so committed to providing a Covid Safe venue, we've asked our resident Kangaroos to help demonstrate physical distancing...

13.01.2022 A quick look in to some of the areas of Kiah Ridge

13.01.2022 We are so grateful that we were able to make an early decision to close our venue well before fire impacted, and liaise with an upcoming group to locate their camp elsewhere. A big thanks to Wesley Vision Valley for being able to welcome the camp to their venue from Friday through to Tuesday. Because of this, there are a many number of people that are able to continue in their opportunity to meet Jesus and grow in their relationship with God. We are grateful for the other v...enues that were in touch to advise of options available. It's a true example of the Spirit of Sharing and support that comes from the Christian Venues Association, and the relationships we have forged with many teams and venues around the country. Thanks to the venuefinder service from CVA that enabled us to connect with Vision Valley. Next time you're looking for a venue and don't know where to start, make sure you use venuefinder.com.au #spiritofsharing

12.01.2022 It's raining at The Ridge! Reminds me of a song 'Raining on the Rock' by the great story teller John Williamson. Staying with us this week? Best pack an umbrella! ... p.s. yep, that's some of about 500ish new plants in some new gardens that survived drought, hungry animals, people, fire, and finally are watered from the sky!

06.01.2022 Now is the time to #bethechurchthatgoesoncamp

05.01.2022 And God said.... 'this is the sign of the covenant I am making between you and me.... I have set my rainbow in the clouds....'

05.01.2022 There are so many images that we could share with you. Our scorched entrance road, the pink retardant that has it's unique sparkle, the buildings that were spared, the fallen trees... But this one seems most appropriate. Our boundary fence which fire pushed towards, stopped by a fire break that our neighbour worked on, leaving much of our site untouched. It seems a reminder that when we feel like there's no hope, maybe we just need to have faith. ... A special thanks to the team from Tahmoor Rural Services. Without their efforts fire would not have stopped until it consumed everything in its path. If you're feeling grateful, and that prayers were answered, we'd invite you to be generous and donate to the Wollondilly Mayor Relief Fund to assist our wider community.

04.01.2022 A brief update... Our staff and families in residence left early today before the fire approached directly. Currently our understanding is that the property has been impacted by fire, but no confirmations or details are available. This fire emergency is by no means over, and there will be many that have experienced loss.... Thanks to those from our community of guests, fellow camping venues, past staff, neighbours that have checked in with us sharing their concerns and offers of support and prayers. We hope to have some resources left to mobilise and offer in support of our community as we are able to. If you have an upcoming booking with us, please be patient, we will be in touch as we are able. Please do not attempt to visit the centre unless you have confirmed an arrangement with one of our team. Thanks for leaving space for those that continue to work to slow the spread of fire, and space for those to begin to recover. Thanks for praying for our Kiah Ridge family, our local community, and looking for ways to reach out and be Jesus hands and feet. Remember that as we read in Romans, suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint, because Gods love has been poured into our hearts.

04.01.2022 There's lots of reasons Churches gather together at a venue like Kiah Ridge... Thanks Narwee Baps for your encouraging words, your commitment to camping ministry, our venue and team. #bethechurchthatgoesoncamp... #kiahridgeccc See more

02.01.2022 On many weekends this space is often home to a Church gathering together. It's one of the primary reasons we exist, to support the local Church in connecting people with Jesus through the experience of getting away together. They're not just simply doing church in a different setting, they're engaging in being the church. They've made a commitment to spend time together in community, connecting with one another, often inviting someone to challenge them on how Jesus called t...hem to be the church and impact their communities. It's here that there's opportunities for conversation to go deeper; for walls to come down; for shared activities and experiences; many meals enjoyed together... and so much more. It's in this unique setting that many experience Jesus for the first time; are refreshed in their faith; are challenged to be Jesus hands feet or voice; or find real healing. So as you plan to gather in some form this weekend, consider how you might be His Church. How can you meet together for more than a couple of hours? How can you be the church that are Jesus hands, feet and voice to those around you? If you're not sure where to start, make a plan to come and fill this place. It's really hard for our team to see this place empty, so when we are all able please #bethechurchthatgoesoncamp
