25.01.2022 You need a loooooong mat for a Bokken course.. all ready for the students.

23.01.2022 First class back. It was great to see our high grade students. Sensei had us doing shadow Ikkyo work.....a progression from exercises sent during the lockdown. Finished with weapons. Due to social distancing we made sure we had 12 square metres of mat space each and a bucket of cleaners as per our school halls instructions. Very weird keeping 1.5m from everyone. Just great to be back.

23.01.2022 Wednesday night practise. I made up cards for every exercise required for gradings as I practiced for them. Sensei shuffled the 1st Dan ones and pulled a few at random for Chris. Time to get the brain matter bubbling. Sensei Steve is at the new IQRO club teaching tonight as I am writing.

22.01.2022 We're back! Ki Aikido Perth has just been given permission to restart classes, so as of Wednesday 27th May we will be back in action. Initially classes will be once a week (Wednesday) and only for Brown belts and above. Social distancing and hygiene will be strictly maintained, so the classes shall be restricted to solo Ki exercises, Aikido exercises practiced as shadowing and non-contact weapon's work.... Hope everyone has kept practicing.....

22.01.2022 Great Tanto course today. Thank you Sensei Steve. Certainly got some issues sorted and the 5 exercises for Dan grading looking smoother and performed with a great deal more confidence.

22.01.2022 Fahmy and Chris, its real, its happening.

21.01.2022 Tori in focus, uki a blur..... this has the makings of a reasonable exercise.

20.01.2022 Perth Ki Aikido club had a great Bokken course this weekend.

20.01.2022 All the best to our four students from the AQRO dojo grading for yellow belt tonight.

19.01.2022 Wishing our Muslim students and followers a happy, healthy and blessed Eid

19.01.2022 It's happened! Classes today and Wednesday are cancelled sorry. Please follow the rules and we will be free again very soon. Students, especially our brown belts. Time to shadow practice and get all your starts to a confident level.

18.01.2022 Congratulations to Sensei Fahmi for opening up the new IQRO Dojo in Cannington, Perth. Classes every Sunday from 4 - 6pm, message for further details.

18.01.2022 RIP Katrina. You shone to bright for this world. Katrina was a student with us for a short time a few years ago. She was a lovely person and her passion was wildlife. She volunteered 10s of thousands of hours to help the bruised, battered, broken or lost creatures. Our heart felt sympathy goes out to her husband, family and friends.

17.01.2022 It's with sadness Sensei is announcing both classes will be cancelled until further notice because of you know what. We need to keep students, families and friends safe. Our club members are all in good health at this time and we hope they stay this way. We will assess restarting classes month by month taking into account State and Federal laws and guidelines.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Casmito, John, Mendro and Marsa who successfully graded to Yellow belt. Well done gentlemen. Straight into 2nd Form.

16.01.2022 For the last two sessions Sensei has been looking at alternative Kokyunages for forms 1 and 2. Eventually everyone will know 3 for each form. Photo from the last National Course, when the next one can be safely held with no state restrictions I don't know.

16.01.2022 Great class to attend, even if it is early am time for us.

16.01.2022 When Sensei Steve does not put away his Hakama Bag properly, liberties are taken. We will hear grumbles about ginger fur for weeks now.

15.01.2022 Very hot today (40*C) Students please make sure you are well hydrated before class and have a full water bottle handy at the mat edge. See you there sweating buckets.

15.01.2022 As soon as Sensei watches, it usually turns to custard.

15.01.2022 Very informative.

14.01.2022 The days are becoming a lot warmer and dehydration can become an issue. Please ensure you are properly hydrated before class and bring your water bottle. The chart below can help. See you tonight.

13.01.2022 Happy 2021 everyone! Question - How do you get students to cut with feeling in 4 directions? Answer - Attack them with 4 Shinai's of course!... Unfortunately we only had 3, but you get the idea....

13.01.2022 Today was a little different. Sensei went thru some teaching skills with myself and Fahmy. Sensei was a tertiary level teacher in Engineering Mathematics back in the UK, so has some great methods to help us learn. The last 20 minutes was a practise of 7th Tanto Sankyo.

13.01.2022 Wednesday night was Nikkyo night! Everyone shake those wrists and relax....

12.01.2022 Off your butts peeps.

10.01.2022 A big welcome to Lin. Lin came to see us a week before we had to lockdown and has now decided to join us. Today we looked at first test mind/body and unbendable arm followed 1st form Kotegaeshi and Ikkyo, concluding with Ki breathing. Sensei did Tanto work with Fahmi too.

08.01.2022 We will looking at going back to normal training in the near future. Sensei will give dates soon

05.01.2022 Happy 89th Birthday Sensei Williams! Thank you for all of the Ki, magic and forward breakfalls.

05.01.2022 Ramadan Kareem to our Muslim Students.

05.01.2022 Tonight's class looked at hands to eye level and shadow work for forms 1-8 Kokyunage. For the last half hour we practiced Bokken cuts and then Ki development with Shinais whilst maintaining social distancing.

05.01.2022 Have a safe and happy Easter. (Emu eggs)

04.01.2022 Latest from HQ. Great to hear Sensei us well. Stay safe everyone

04.01.2022 Last night we celebrated the return to normal class finally. Mind and body unified 3rd Test to start. Sensei then got us to put our Kokyunage shadow work to good use with partners. Finally some Ki development with bokkens. Really enjoyed the class.

01.01.2022 Intro to 7th form Sankyo with Tanto today for Fahmi and as its a weak exercise for myself, used this time to get in some study. The session ended with bokken cuts. We are waiting to see if schools close here in the near future and what this will mean for our classes. keep calm and breath...preferably 1m away from someone else. Photo: A few years ago now

01.01.2022 A good reminder to give your wooden weapons a good start to 2021
