23.01.2022 2020 Year 12 Visual Arts student, Tiffany Springett is the Artist of the Month at the Shellharbour Civic Centre for the month of April! Her exhibition features artworks in a range of styles and mediums and explores her love of drawing and painting eyes. Tiffany has held a passion for art from a young age, and this has continued post-school with her engagement with a Bachelor of Visual Arts at University of Wollongong! ... 21.01.2022 Assembly today: On 30 July 2020, 28 students from Years 7-10 participated in the Annual Australian Mathematics Competition. This year students completed the test online for the first time at Kiama High School and challenged their mathematical thinking against thousands of other students around Australia. Of the 28 students who participated, 1 student achieved a Distinction and 14 students achieved a Credit. Students who achieved a Credit Certificate -... Year 7 - Indiana Garvan, Jade King, Kirra Marcucci, Oscar Werfel, Max Meredith, Benjamin Baker, Drew Mortimer, Ebony Winston Year 8 - Jennessa Morley, Nick Fuller Year 9 - Tabitha Morley, Bailey Davids, Rose Hollywood, Joshua Askew These students also received a $5 canteen voucher Heidi Vogelaar of Year 8 achieved a Distinction Certificate and a $10 canteen voucher. Congratulations to all students who participated. Congratulations also to Ava for her Operatiin Art Award. Ava will have her work displayed in a Gallery at Sydney Olympic Park.

16.01.2022 Year 7 Visual Arts were all tasked with a take-home assignment in Term One, exploring the Elements of Design and Portraiture. As we begin to mark these first assignments, we couldn't be more impressed with the quality of both the written work and the recreated famous portraits by some of our talented students!

14.01.2022 As part of NAIDOC week, year 7 students engaged in a range of workshops on Wednesday. In the Visual Arts faculty they explored the practise of Indigenous artists Rosemary Petyarre and Abie Loy Kemarre! They worked with Ms Russell to create beautiful layered Gelli prints using native plants for patterning! Well done Year 7!

07.01.2022 The year 9 Visual Arts class had an amazing day yesterday, invovled in a Virtual Reality incursion. Run by local business (and past Kiama HIgh School student!) Jane Venegas' ' Nested Realities' the students got to immerse themsevles in the world of artmaking through Virtual Reality. The question is often raised, "what will I do with art study" but Jane clearly outlined the links to future employment in a wide range of careers for students, which have art study links and link...s to the creative technology covered through the use of the Oculus VR Headset and Tilt Brush programs.
