24.01.2022 Fantastic to see the textures and details coming together at our Stafford 3 project. Almost love the blonde tumbled brick as much as the proposed seal and paint finish option. 22.01.2022 Willawa planning: To make the most of a battle ax, land locked site, we designed a compact floor plan around private open spaces with the concept of looking inwards when looking outward. The T shaped plan allows a connection between the front courtyard, living and rear garden with bedrooms stacked to one side for privacy. Awesome to finally see this come together on site! #kibbindesignstudio

This project demonstrates what can be achieved with a buy in from the client, designer and builder. Respecting the approach to a custom build, that from planning, to cost per sqm, the length of the process, will exceed any package build. The outcome however is incomparable! This house has a finish and feel well above its price point. 09.01.2022 Beyond the designer most projects require input from other parties to complete the job. Our role is to liaise, co ordinate and relay relevant information back to the client as necessary. We have an amazing group of energy assessors, engineers, landscape designers, bushfire assessors, surveyors and planners that assist with documentation for applications and approval to get the job done. The images are of the landscape concept for OBrien by @captivatelandscapedesign. Our vision with OBrien was to integrate planting with built elements to enhance space. Each apartment will feature a landscaped, two storey high void space right through the center of each dwelling. #kibbindesignstudio

08.01.2022 Orientation: A spectacular view is not always in the right direction when it comes to planning around natural light and breezes. The Stafford 3 plan strikes a balance, observing the stunning outlook and incorporating a northerly courtyard adjacent a central stair void as a light well, heat sync and breeze path for the home. The plan can be compartmentalized for more efficient heating and cooling and also adding privacy to the enclosed spaces. The plan is a result of our collaborative design approach incorporating feedback from client, engineer, energy assessor and builder. #kibbindesignstudio #underconstruction

06.01.2022 I need to make an update on our previous post. Last weekend it was brought to my attention that the register from @architectsassist became officially affiliated with @institute_architects_aus. Unfortunately because of this it leaves design service providers outside the institute including building designers, interior designers and drafting service providers, no longer able to assist with the bushfire recovery under this registry. I feel this is a shame as initially it was a m...eans to an all inclusive effort of everyone in the industry, to assist with the recovery through such a wide reaching disaster. Following the images and stories out there I continue to be inspired to help. From initiatives starting up such as @emptyesky and @spendwiththem and seeing the huge donations come through to @nswrfs @wireswildliferescue and @redcrossau. As @architectsassist continue a good cause, I now make myself available in the same capacity via this platform. Being based in Kiama its possible to service someone affected in the Shoalhaven or Southern Highlands area. As a small business I have limitations to what I can offer but would like to help where possible. 01.01.2022 Concept Plan: OBrien Dual Occupancy - A response to a limited site frontage and a wedge shape block, that tapers further to the rear. The plan utilizes a terrarium and tall void spaces to bounce light and create a feeling of space through each apartment. #kibbindesignstudio

01.01.2022 Nioka Alterations and Additions: Besides being a cool interior design feature, the batten screening limits western sun into the main suite. The detail also allows a filtered view of the leafy streetscape which the clients were keen to observe from the bedroom. #kibbindesignstudio
