25.01.2022 A lot of people are asking me how often should l be posting over the Christmas holidays on my social media and can I take a break? My answer is ....do you whatever you feel is best for you and your mental health... Best practice is consistency, and of course letting your customers, fans and community know if there is any changes to your hours, services or of course #boxingdaysales but quality over quantity is important.... So my advice is, say what you need to, but have a break, and come back in 2021 strong.

This is why it is essential you have brand consistency - across all your social platforms, channels, photos, website. So why am I showing you this brand background and what does it have to do with social? It is important to get a brand tool kit together so everything works together. Including background patterns, icons, fonts, colours etc. ... You want people to be easily jump from Instagram, to Facebook, to LinkedIn or your website and shook and have it feel consistent. If you don’t, they will be less likely to buy. So here is a challenge Take a screen shot of all your social platforms and website and some of your brochures and see if they look like the same brand (beyond your logo) Let me know what you find out? Is your brand on fire or needing some love?

If you haven't.......tut tut, better get in quick to get off SantAmber’s naughty list! You don’t have long. Go quick and get the word out, or you’ll get a lump of coal along with customers thinking it’s business as usual. And you don’t really want to be at work on Christmas day now do you?

18.01.2022 ou might not mean to do it - but you could be turning your back on your customers right now. I have been doing a rough poll of instagram accounts I follow and over 60% of them are not replying to customer comments. If someone takes the time to comment on your post, do the decent thing and like and reply. This is how you build trust and engagement, which can ultimately lead to sales.... Even if it is an emoji, send an emoji back! Don’t leave them hanging. If you don’t respond to them, someone else will.

13.01.2022 I took the weekend off. I had a million things in my diary and on my to do list and started to beat myself up about it. But I was sick (kids share their colds but nothing else #mumlife) and yet - I felt guilty. Like I was letting everyone down including myself for not pushing on. Then I realised - I am not superwoman - I can’t pour from an empty cup. So I stayed in bed. Slept. Watched tv. Slept some more. So now it’s Monday and I am back to half strength. I wish I could say I stayed in bed again but the realities of being an entrepreneur mean that that’s not possible.

This is why it is so important to understand who your audience is and what their schedule is. This day is super important to me as I honestly believe that good mental health is one of the strongest assets an entrepreneur can have, but one of the hardest things to maintain. So when you look around at other women in business (or anyone for that matter) that seem to have all their ducks in a row, just know, underneath the surface, they are just as likely to be holding on by a thread. What can you do about this? Sim...ply, be a kind human. Support other local business (they still get excited whenever they make a sale) Show kindness to a random stranger. Tell someone they are doing a good job And finally, look after yourself. If your tank is empty, you have nothing left to give anyone else. Have any other tips?
