25.01.2022 The children in the Toddler Investigators room have been exploring The Rainbow Serpent Dreamtime story through reading with educators and investigating their new wall display. The children built connections between the story and the display through conversations with educators. ‘We believe children develop the skills for lifelong learning through play and the spontaneous and intentional teaching opportunities that it provides’ - KidCademy Philosophy



23.01.2022 Today the children in Pre-Kindy Adventurers explored the Holi festival otherwise known as the festival of colours. The children worked together to do a beautiful splatter painting to display in our classroom. The children enjoying experimenting with their brushes to identify the best way to effectively splatter the paint. Learning Outcome 2 ~ Children connect with and contribute to their world

18.01.2022 Excitement was in the air at KidCademy ELC Coorparoo today as the children had a special visit from the Easter Bunny! The children danced to Easter music and learnt about the Bilby’s connection to Easter in Australia during an interactive Easter show. They then welcomed the Easter Bunny before having him lead our Easter hat parade! The children got to have many cuddles and high fives with the Easter Bunny before he hopped back home

14.01.2022 KIDCADEMY VISITS REVERSE GARBAGE Our first excursion on the bus to reverse Garbage was a great experience and our children were very excited to see what this centre involved. As a group, we followed the tour guide into the workshop room where she spoke to us about recycling and composting. We spoke about all different types of creepy crawlies and what different bugs lived in our gardens! The children said ants, butterflies, dragonflies, bees, spiders and beetles! ... Every child got to pick an insect to make and used the recycled resources around Reverse Garbage's workshop to create their own bug! Reverse Garbage Queensland thank you for having us!

11.01.2022 Today the children in Pre-Kindy Adventurers and Kindy Explorers had an outdoor Easter egg hunt! The children loved searching the senior yard for Easter eggs and finding some of the eggs in very funny places

08.01.2022 Today we started collecting handprints for our ‘flags of Australia’ display. Children, educators and families have had opportunities to contribute to this display through painting their hands the flag colours that represent their Australia. Families will have continued opportunities to add to our display through the set up next to the Kiosk. We are one.

07.01.2022 BREAKING: Greater Brisbane will go into a three-day lockdown and restrictions will come into place across Queensland after cases of COVID-19 transmission were d...etected in the community. From 5pm today, residents in the local government areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Logan and Redlands can only leave home for one of these four reasons: 1. To buy essentials such as groceries or medications 2. Work or study if you can’t do either from home 3. Exercise in your local area 4. Healthcare or to provide help, care or support Cafes, pubs and restaurants will be open only for take-away service. Schools in the locked down areas will remain open for children of essential workers. Visitors at private homes are limited to two per day. Weddings are limited to a maximum of 10 people, including the celebrant and witnesses. Funerals are limited to a maximum of 20 people, excluding officials. For the rest of Queensland, private gatherings are restricted to 30 people. Everywhere in Queensland, you must carry a mask with you whenever you leave home. Wear it in indoor spaces, including public transport, taxis and rideshares. To keep our most vulnerable Queenslanders safe, aged care, correctional centres, hospitals and disability service providers will close to visitors across the state. The restrictions will be reviewed on Wednesday evening. These measures are tough, but they are important to keep our community safe. #covid19

05.01.2022 At KidCademy Early Learning Coorparoo we love celebrations. We often celebrate special events through experiences in the rooms and decorating our foyer. This year for Australia Day we wanted to insure we included all Australians in our celebrations through an inclusive display. Happy Australia Day. We are one.

02.01.2022 The children in Pre-Kindy Adventures ventured out into our herb garden to pick some basil for lunch. They each picked a few leaves before giving them to Miss Mell in the kitchen. The children watched eagerly as Miss Mell washed the basil before chopping it ready to go into the pasta. Lunch was delicious and all the children had very happy tummy’s! EYLF Learning Outcome 2.4 - Children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment.
