25.01.2022 This week at Kiddie Academy Mudgee the preschoolers have been experimenting with ooey gooey slime. Dipping their hands into the slim tub sparked a group conversation amongst the children and educators about the texture of the slime, the temperature and what what the feeling reminds them of. Whilst slime can sometimes be messy the clean up is relatively easy and the truth is playing with slime is actually really beneficial for children - helping promote critical thinking, imagination, encouraging open conversations all whilst learning through play! #ooeygooeyslime #learningthroughplay #eylfoutcome2 #eylfoutcome4 #messyplay #preschoolfun @ Mudgee, New South Wales
25.01.2022 This week at Kiddie Academy Mudgee we learnt about ANZAC day. We feel it is important to educate Children about Australias history and the sacrifices that have been made. Sadly ANZAC ceremonies and services have been cancelled this year. However, continue the ANZAC legacy at home by perhaps baking some ANZAC biscuits, or even participating in Light Up The Dawn event, by standing at end of your driveway at 6am tomorrow morning. ( more details of this event can be found o...nline. ) Early Learners and Pre School have been busy at their craft stations making slouch hats. They even put their baking skills to the test and baked some special ANZAC biscuits to go inside their hats. While the biscuits were baking they read a book called ANZAC Ted by Belinda Landsbery. ANZAC Ted is about the ANZAC spirit and how through courage, loyalty and love a childs teddy bear helped bring our soldiers home! Today and every day we are proud to be Australian! Happy ANZAC Day to you all. #kiddieacademymudgee #anzacday #anzacbiscuits #eylfoutcome2 #proudaustralian @ Mudgee, New South Wales

24.01.2022 The Languages Of Us Cultures are not only influenced by traditional practices, values and beliefs but by languages too. This week the Junior Explorers have been learning about the different languages from around the world and how some of our families speak more than one language at home. As Self Love is included in the Junior Explorers program they have tied in three words we should all say to ourselves every single day - STRONG. BEAUTIFUL. KIND. ... One by one the children have learned how to say these three words in the languages which are used amongst our Junior Explorers families at home, and, with each new language they spoke about the culture the language comes from. Respecting multiculturalism and diversity means respecting the values and beliefs of our families. We are one, but we are many! #eylfoutcome1 #eylfoutcome2 #eylfoutcome4 #diversityandinclusion #multiculturalgeneration #culture #kiddieacademymudgee @ Mudgee, New South Wales
23.01.2022 Early Learners have been trying their hand at cooking and have been attempting to make home made damper. They created this age old treat by adding all of the ingredients together one by one in a large bowl, they mixed and then mixed some more followed by rolling the damper dough into a ball ( this bit was everyone’s favourite.) After sending it off to the kitchen to be cooked they got to feast on their scrumptious damper for afternoon tea, all of the children said it tasted really really yummy! Good work Early Learners. #cookingfromscratch #damperbread
23.01.2022 It’s the second day of December and the Christmas spirit is high here at Kiddie Academy Mudgee. Here’s a carol to get you into the spirit too! #jinglebells #remix #tistheseason
22.01.2022 The children in our Early Learners room gathered together today for an interactive group activity which highlighted the importance of road safety. Everyone took turns in driving the makeshift car our crafty educators whipped up and they also took turns in being the passenger too where they needed to click and clack before take off. They then read some special books which all shared the same message about road safety - click clack front and back, hold hands when crossing the ...road and look in every direction. A mini road along with some small cars and signs were set up on our tables for the children to practice their road safety skills through out the day. What a wonderful interactive experience to educate our children on such an important life lesson.
22.01.2022 Jess Sulter is a Gamillaroi women from Coonabarabran who now calls the Mudgee area home, and today she stopped by to share some of her own art, culture and knowledge with us as a part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations! We feel incredibly privilege to not only view Jess’ art but to be given the opportunity to feel, touch and explore her masterpieces too. She also took some time to speak to us about how dot painting isn’t the only form of Aboriginal art, the different animal tracks we might see when we are walking in the bush and also explained what some of the most common Aboriginal symbols mean. #naidocweek2020 #alwayswasalwayswillbe #abcindigenous

20.01.2022 Our preschoolers have been busy experimenting with science Children develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity and creativity, science experiments are the perfect way to encourage this. Lots of different science experiments were set up for our big kids yesterday. Volcanos, coloured bubble blowing, geometric shape painting and bubble wrap painting. During these experiments educators sat at each table with the children discussing the cause and effect of the pa...rticular experiment they were doing as well as the patterns and textures they were creating and seeing. We loved watching the children transfer and adapt what they learned at one experiment table and taking it along to the next, good job pre schoolers! #eylfoutcome4 #transferandadapt #scienceisgolden #bigkidsroom #curiosity #experiment @ Mudgee, New South Wales
19.01.2022 We aren’t only green thumbs when it comes to our vegetable patches here at Kiddie Academy Mudgee ... Our flower beds are thriving too!
19.01.2022 The Young Inventors have been having so much fun learning the alphabet and learning new beats on the big drum too! All of the children really liked getting to spray paint the letter that their first name begins with which then contributed to the giant alphabet hung in their room - craft experiences like this are not only a bunch of fun but also encourage the children to engage and learn through play. Another favourite has been banging out beats the big drum. It’s very big and very noisey and that’s why we love it! The Young Inventors use the drum as a group experience teaching the children new beats as well as letting them explore their musical creativity. This is the perfect way to build self confidence, to teach the children how to focus and to bring smiles to everyone’s faces. #learningthroughplay #musicandkids

They then had an open discussion with the educators about the importance of listening to your teachers when you hear an alarm, why you should not panic and what we need to do at Kiddie Academy Mudgee in the case of an emergency.
