23.01.2022 Today we had an incursion that taught our little Kiddes all about Chinese New Year. Chelsea introduced some Chinese language, Nihau as hello, XieXie as thank you, happy as Knai le and new year as Xin Nian. She showed us a Chinese dance with dragon and lion moves. Chelsea had a beautiful theatre with the puppets. She had a mouse, a little walky talky lion and even some musical instruments. The children were obsessed with it and had lots and lots of fun. Many of the children were trying to repeat Chinese words with Chelsea. Afterwards Chelsea did some craft work with the children. She taught them how to make Chinese Lanterns, by cutting in straight lines, great for the development of their fine motor skills. It was a beautiful, exciting day for children and staff Thank you so much Chelsea from Mandarin Stars !

22.01.2022 Happy Diwali Thankyou to all of our beautiful families that came and participated today, our beautiful educators for the amazing effort in decorations, food and preparation. It was a great day of dancing, exploring and celebration. HAPPY DIWALI

19.01.2022 Another science experiment from science week - balloon rocket science experiment! We taught the children about action and reaction by showing how the balloon rocket works. The children put great efforts by pinching the balloon shut and attaching the string and tape. Sonam taught the children by showing the force from the air moving in one direction propels the balloon in the other direction much like a rocket. Children really enjoyed having turns letting the balloon go and watching it flying down the string! The children loved it and wanted to do it again and again . They were working on developing their hand-eye coordination and their focus. It was such a great challenge for the children to move a balloon from one side of the room all the way to the other, without touching it! They had amazing fun doing this experiment!!

17.01.2022 The last 2 months has just flown by! Starting with spooky Halloween

17.01.2022 Congratulations to our Coles Eat the Rainbow competition winnerMacy! She was absolutely delighted with her prize she said her favourite fruit and veg are oranges, carrots and broccoli. Well done to everyone, keep up the healthy eating. It was also great to hear stories from parents of children who said no to treats, very proud to hear that such awesome little listeners. Keep up the healthy lunchboxes too parents, some amazing creations there! Remember if you have a healthy recipe you would like to share please do so new recipes are always greatly appreciated, not to mention ones that have been tried and tested and passed the kiddie taste test! Such a fun topic, we made sushi, did fruit tasting & vegetable tasting and even painted using vegetables the children loved it!

16.01.2022 Today we took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and went for a lovely walk down to Windan Bridge. We saw the water taxi going up the river carrying passengers. We watched some ducks foraging for food. We saw the power station and lots of pylons, we talked about them bringing electricity to all the houses in the city. We saw hills of mulch and talked about what it was used for, including our garden in Kiddies Learning Hub. The children pointed out how the trucks, buses cars and trains go on top of the bridge and how the people and bikes go under the bridge! We saw the Optus stadium where Edwin said he watched the Dockers play

15.01.2022 The Easter Bunny came to Kiddies Learning Hub today!!! Just as well we were prepared We had made bags to collect eggs and we had coloured pictures for him too He left some clues to help us find where the eggs were hidden, and he left big white footprints outside too. The children were mesmerised by them! I will try merge the video clips and post too

13.01.2022 One of our experiments for science week was 'Milk Art'. The children loved when they dipped the cotton bud into the food colouring it shot out like a "firework". There were lots of 'ooohs and wows'. After creating a beautiful marble effect, we placed a piece of paper on top of the solution and see how it turned out.....beautiful!! Thanks Gess for your amazing idea!

13.01.2022 The children were learning about circles and in true Montessori fashion we thought what better way to learn about them than to spin around in one!

13.01.2022 What a special day it was at Kiddies Learning Hub today, we had the talented Alec from Childs Play Music come in with all his impressive hand-made instruments! The children thoroughly enjoyed it and had many laughs. They learned about the instruments and how to play them. They also had the chance to be part of an orchestra and even had to follow the conductor's baton, playing slowly, then fast and watching when to stop! They played string instruments, wind instruments, turned percussion and untuned percussion, he had it all!! 07.01.2022 Happy New Year one and all! It was great to have the children back after the break. It was lovely to see them so full of chat about their holidays! The camping area was a welcomed addition to the classroom, even if I didn't have the marshmallows to roast The children really used their imagination with playing 'camping' and the 'babies' even got a turn to go on a camping holiday! Their was lots of food cooked on the bbq and stories told while sitting on the logs by the fire

06.01.2022 We had such an amazing day with Old Mac Donalds Farm! The children were in their element patting, holding, brushing and especially feeding the 'real animals'. They all listened really well and were conscious to not scare the animals, lots of inside voices and walking slowly, they did us proud, great job I'm sure many parents will be hounded for a pet now

05.01.2022 We had the pleasure of Nana Jill visiting us for songs and story time, which as always captured the children's attention as she animatedly told them the story of the Gingerbread Man. She used her beautiful props which really brought the story to life for them. Children who wanted a turn at retelling the story did so, using the props. Nana Jill also gave the children a turn telling the story using her felt boards! The large Gingerbread teddy was particularly amazing...."You can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread man". Thank you so much Nana Jill and Ginger, come see us again xx

01.01.2022 We are really loving our Space theme at the moment! From our very own space rocket to play in, moon sand to shape and form, moon rocks to examine, rockets to build, rocket launcher and shuttle to manouver, astronauts to put together, felt and magnetic boards to create stories, glittery playdoh to squeeze and create, puzzles, stars to tweeze, space vehicles to hammer, not to mention the endless craft options! The children have been absolutely loving all the beautiful materials and experiences and learning all about our universe in the process!
