24.01.2022 Here's what people are saying about the Kiddimono workshops...

23.01.2022 A few years ago, I was encouraged to spend time with my kids over a cup of tea to help me connect, be more present, and listen in a non-judgmental way by a beautiful Art Therapist here in Albury. The effect was so healing for my daughters and me that I decided it was the perfect conversational tool to use in the Kiddimono workshops. The Kiddimono brew consists of calming herbs such as chamomile, lavender, lemon balm, peppermint and fennel. This tea is designed to help calm th...e nervous system and relax the body after a busy day at school. Each brew is made with love and holds the intention of discovery, support, connection and allowing grounding to take place. The cup of tea provides a vehicle for me to be truly present with each child and deeply listen to the things that are important for them to share about their day. Rooted in Chinese Zen philosophy, the tea ceremony is a spiritual process, in which the participants remove themselves from the mundane world, seeking harmony and inner peace. The sharing of the tea has become the kid’s favourite thing to do before our workshops begin. Sitting in a circle around the teapot talking about life and the universe has allowed me to get to know the kids on a deeper level and assisted me in learning ways I can support them on their creative journey. The more kids can talk about the little things, the more likely they will open up about the bigger issues later on. This simple ritual needs to be given time and a setting that honours the importance of sharing a cup of tea together. Your uninterrupted presence will bring stability and calmness to both you and your child. You can sit on a blanket on the lounge room floor, up at the kitchen bench sipping tea from your best tea set or better still, sitting outside in nature. Could this simple magical cup of tea provide you with more time and space to connect with your kids? The Kiddimono Magic Tea Recipe One scoop of calming tea leaves in a pot 20 minutes of uninterrupted time (phones off) A beautiful cup of conversation about what is important to your kids Warm water poured slowly as you relax and unwind together Sip with laughter, supportiveness, non-judgement and presence Allow the magic of the unknown to happen!

04.01.2022 Let Issy and Bella take you on a tour of the Kiddimono workshop...

03.01.2022 Being in nature engages ALL your senses! As you make your way down the umber-brown bushland path, you are witness to the conglomeration of soloists, busily singing their morning song. The sweet rained-washed eucalyptus provides the signature smell of the Australian bush, and the rays of dappled sunlight kiss the droplets of dew. The glory of Mother Nature is revealed. According to Andres Edwards founder and president of Edu Tracks, using our senses to touch, see or smell in... a natural setting doesn’t require a task-specific, problem-solving approach. Instead, we can enjoy our experience in nature and be rejuvenated by taking in the sights and sounds at a relaxed pace. Edwards goes further to say, undirected attention is easy to summon and maintain and leads to reduced stress and anxiety. This has me wondering why we don’t spend more time in nature? On a personal level, a walk in nature is a great time for me to connect with my girls. When we do walk down by the river, we spend the time talking about what is happening in their life; the things they want to talk about. I am not judging, I am just listening. I want to give them space, help them connect to their feelings and allow them to feel safe to share what they need to share at the time. It is in my experience, something magical happens on these walks away from home and our devices. There is always healing that takes place; problems are solved, plans are made, and our energies are rejuvenated. Below are some benefits to walking in nature: Our minds become sharper and more inventive. It is said to strengthen our immune system. Helps reduce stress. Can potentially lower blood pressure Increases positivity. We are filled with wonder and awe. Witness incredible seasonal changes. Calms the nervous system. Improves vitality and mood. We develop a stronger connection with nature, and we gravitate towards being more respectful to the earth. Happy walking, everyone!

01.01.2022 Being human naturally evokes gratitude. A walk in nature brings awareness to the abundant creativity of Mother Nature, and seeing a child achieve a milestone brings joy to the heart. These moments connect us to a more meaningful and more profound sense of purpose in our lives. With this in mind, are we able to use the simple act of giving thanks more deliberately to help us raise our vibration and allow us to tap into our feelings of joy, abundance and love to help us live ...a more fulfilled life? There have been many studies done to prove that children and adults get a big happiness boost from cultivating gratitude. It would seem that the more grateful we become, the more satisfied we are with our life. Studies have gone on to show that children with high levels of gratitude are more creative, have better academic performances, less depression and envy and a more positive outlook on life. If we can, in small ways, encourage ourselves and our children to feel and show gratitude, our world will become kinder and a more supportive place in which to live. When we radiate gratitude, it gives permission for others to do the same. Gratitude is contagious! There are many different ways to cultivate gratitude. Here is a small list that may help begin your journey of gratitude or be a reminder to keep going. Quick and simple gratitude: 1. Put a hand on your heart in the shower and say three things of gratitude before beginning the day. 2. Develop a daily gratitude ritual: Bedtime (my personal favourite) or around the dinner table. 3. Take a walk in nature and look closely at her magical creations. Notice the smells, colours and textures. Visual gratitude: 4. Create a gratitude jar or box. 5. Send a letter/postcard to someone whom you love or who has helped you in some way. 6. Gratitude board. Cut out pictures of things you are grateful for and put them on a board or the fridge. 7. Create a photo board of all the moments you are grateful for throughout the year. 8. Put a surprise sticky note for someone to find. 9. Keep a gratitude journal. Random acts of kindness: 10. Donate used goods to a charity. 11. Help a neighbour, friend or family member. 12. Help look after a local environment. 13. Pay something forward 14. Let a stranger go in front of you in line. 15. Give un unexpected compliment. Making gratitude a habit: 16. Take a 21 Day Gratitude family challenge. (Make up your own, or find a challenge on the internet.) Sending you lots of feel-good vibes with gratitude.
