19.01.2022 Friday was National Stop Bullying Day. The Superheroes room discussed what bully words feel like, Miss Sonya then discussed what to do if someone is being mean to us and she encouraged the kindys to use their words and say "Stop, I don't like it" and tell a teacher or a parent what has happened, so they can help. To reinforce the communication established on the mat the children completed an art activity were they made a rainbow hand circle using coloured paint and their h...and prints. With the message 'Stop bullying!" in the middle. Miss Sonya then made a display to celebrate the children's learning and to highlight the message to our friends.

18.01.2022 The Kindy children have been learning a new Letter and sound as part of the school readiness program. They are learning about the Letter A and the sound it makes /a/. Miss Sonya taught them their new phonics song 'Ants on the Apple /a/, /a/, /a/'. We sang the song several times then painted an egg carton black. We are turning the black egg carton into an ant and attaching it to our glittered apple.

18.01.2022 Today was outdoor play day and together as a group we spent the entire day outside we did some yoga, a hockey pokey mat session, wet sand play and lots of free play/exploring. We also had lunch outside and even better we slept outside!!!! What an amazing day the children and educators had a blast #happyoutdoorplayday

17.01.2022 Children can learn new skills, have fun, play and develop self-confidence by spending time in the garden tending plants and growing their own food. Most children enjoy being outdoors and love digging in the soil, getting dirty, creating things and watching plants grow. This week at Kids Academy we planting beans and we cant wait to see them grow so we can taste them!

01.01.2022 KIDS ACADEMY SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM. The children were encouraged to play with the ten frames. Understanding that numbers are composed of tens and ones is an important foundational concept, setting the stage for work with larger numbers. A strong sense of "ten" is a prerequisite for place value understanding and mental calculations. The kindy children used the ten frames to develop a number sense of five and ten by placing counters into the ten frames.
