25.01.2022 It is amazing that sometimes in team youth sport, you end up with one person within the team who has the ability to destroy the team environment. Through under hand bullying, through disrespect to coaches and other players, through violence and intimidation. Not easy to deal with, and sometimes although its not fair or right, you just have to walk away from it. If this occurred in professional sport - the offender would loose their salary and be removed permanently.

24.01.2022 The emphasis is all wrong, not just in rugby, but across all youth sports - its all about winning. The seasons should be about skill acquisition and building strength and fitness and the games should just be a by product of that. Having a child who wants to play professionally eventually means that as parents we have weighted him down and kept him away from representative competition to protect his body. Even playing down does not mean there are those who are at least 30 kg... more than him and he has not remained uninjured but I know how to help him build strength around his joints using his body weight to at least give him the best chance . 04.01.2022 Kids leave youth sport due to lack of respect by coaches, parents and team mates (Visik, 2014). Winning is by no means the most important thing for kids - comes in at 48 out of 81 in a list of importance.
