25.01.2022 BRING ON MONDAY!!!!! Stay tuned the Holiday Program will be released on Monday.... Its going to be amazing :)

24.01.2022 This week we started a new tradition at OSHC, awarding our children when they have achieved their milestones or shown great behaviour. Justin was the lucky one who received the first award for the leadership he was demonstrating amongst his peer group. Great job Justin! #awardingexcellence #shinigstars #Lifelonglearningcentre

23.01.2022 We have started a new project here at OSHC, learning about our cultures that are present here at the centre. This months focus is Germany and we have received plenty of great information from our families with a German background about where they come from, their traditional foods and cultural beliefs. We are super excited to continue this project each month, incorporating our families and child's expertise and knowledge into our daily learning. #healthyfamilies #completelyconnected #Lifelonglearningcentre

23.01.2022 On Wednesday a group of us visited our local library for our fortnightly excursion, to return the books we had borrowed and to choose some of our personal favourites. The girls absolutely loved this outing and what a great way to stay connected with our local community and help develop our children's literacy and reading skills. #kalamundalibrary #excursions #healthycommunities #healthyminds

23.01.2022 Tomorrow is Early Childhood Educators Day! We have a large poster out in our front foyer for parents to write any comments about our amazing educators. What a great way to show appreciation for the hard work our girls do. #earlychildhoodeducatorsday #lifelonglearningcentre

22.01.2022 Last week we had a beautiful lemon tree planted in our backyard in memory of Nate. Partnered with a plaque, this is a touching way to remember a beautiful soul that was part of OSHC's family. Some of our children helped dig the hole and plant the tree. Thank you to Amy, Lee, Charlotte and Sienna for the donation. Now a part of Nate will always be here with us at OSHC. #completelyconnected #rememberance

22.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder families I have added week 2 of holiday excursions onto your accounts. It was $15 for clip and climb and $15 for either Iplay or the Jungle Gym.

22.01.2022 Did you know our centre uses Storypark to keep families connected to their child's learning, development and fun whilst with us? Storypark is a safe and secure platform to share videos, photos and special moments. And best of all, it's free for parents! If you haven't already signed up, contact us and we will get you set up.

18.01.2022 'Putting children first' was front of mind when National Child Protection Week was first launched 30 years ago, and it remains as important today. Our centre is proud to operate under the same mantra, with childrens' wellbeing and safety always being priority. https://www.napcan.org.au/ncpw-get-involved/

17.01.2022 NEW DOOR CODE Families please be aware we have just been required to change the door code. We are trying to keep the door code confidential, please be mindful not to tell anyone or the children.

16.01.2022 Here are some of our friends making a new enclosure for our newly hatched spiney leaf babies. This fits into our Science Week theme perfectly, learning new facts about taking care of our additions to our spiney leaf family, adding eucalyptus leaves for their nutrition source. Great to see our buddies taking care of our new friends. #scienceweek #spineyleaf #naturalworld

15.01.2022 As we have been discussing and extending on our children's interests, we have joined the Kalamunda Library and started a book club! We will be doing a fortnightly excursion trips to the library to swap books and will have the collection readily available in the office for the children to check out and take home. We hope you enjoy this exciting new addition to our OSHC Club! #HealthyCommunities #childrensinterest

08.01.2022 What a fun and messy way to end the week, making our favourite thing.. SLIME! Miss C and Miss A helped their friends mix the ingredients together and to make their own individual consistencies of slime, describing the differences in textures and feels when different ingredients were added and mixed through. We used some pink sparkly glue which made it extra special, while some other friends decided to use the shaving cream to give it a more light and fluffy texture. ... See below the ingredients if you would like to try this at home! - Borax (adult help/supervision needed) - Craft glue - Warm water - Conditioner (optional: makes the slime silky) - Shaving cream (optional: used to make fluffy slime) #scienceweek #messyplay #slime

06.01.2022 Hi families, This week is NAIDOC and Recycling week. We will be honouring our custodial traditions, by learning about and recognising Aboriginal culture and art. On Friday 13/11 we would like to have a "Recycling Day" if you have any boxes, or milk contains or anything really that we could use for recycling art and craft on this day. Please bring them in, and hand them to the staff and we will keep it safe till Friday :)
