21.01.2022 Little ones are so quick, getting into all sorts of mischief - particularly if your house isn’t set up for kids. Take 5 minutes out of your day to check that any cots, beds, high chairs, etc, are kept away from windows where little children can reach cords. If you don’t already have tensioning devices, you can buy these from your local hardware store to secure any loose or looped cords at least 1.6m above floor level.... 21.01.2022 In August 2020, precious Hunter Boyle tragically drowned in a dam at just 2 years old. His parents, Ash and Matt, through their devastation, have vowed to make a difference in Hunter's name and have established the Hunter Boyle Children's Swim Program. This pilot program will be managed by Kidsafe in partnership with Hunter's family, with the aim of teaching vulnerable children within the Shepparton region to swim. ... This program really could be life saving and we are thrilled to be facilitating this in Hunter's name. WIN News Shepparton

21.01.2022 Is your pool or spa gate ever propped open? While it can sometimes be tempting to prop the pool gate open so you can carry items through, this can give children unsupervised access to the pool area. Always close the gate to help keep kids safe. #SafeBarriersSaveLives Safetech Hardware Australia Swimming Pool & Spa Association of Victoria - SPASA Victoria Protector Aluminium

20.01.2022 Young children are quicker and quieter than you may realise - one minute they are sound asleep and the next they could be off exploring and playing with a curtain cord. Sadly, two Victorian children - aged 3 and 4 years old - have died from injuries received from curtain and blind cord incidents in the last 12 months. Take action today - look around your home and secure any loose or looped curtain cords.... 20.01.2022 Some might say - Friday 13th, eeek! Others might say - lucky number 13 To help avoid things going bump in the night, it’s a good idea to have a night light or sensor light set up in the kids bedroom and hallway, especially if your little ones get up multiple times to go to the toilet, see what everyone is up to or to ask for a drink!

19.01.2022 Are you renting a property with a pool or spa? As a tenant, it’s still important to regularly check the safety of the pool area even though you don’t own the home. If your pool barrier is faulty or has become damaged or unsafe, ensure your child cannot gain unsupervised access to the area and contact your landlord or agent for an urgent repair. 16.01.2022 We recently posted about the dangerous temperatures that the inside of a parked car can reach, but did you know that ‘hot prams’ are a danger too? Covering your pram to shield your little one from the sun might seem like the right thing to do, however even using material as light as muslin can reduce air circulation and cause the temperature to rise dramatically. This interview we did with TODAY earlier this year, shows how quickly things can change: https://9now.nine.com.au//coveri/ck5ye4zjy004u0hpgp3dc7ccj
