When there are lots of adults around, it may seem like there is extra supervision for the kids - however, this isn't always the case. It can be easy to think that someone else is actively supervising them when in fact, nobody is. When you’re deciding who’s in charge of the BBQ , make sure you remember to set the most important role - the designated supervisors - who are in charge of actively supervising the kids within arm's reach when in and around water. 14.01.2022 Falls are the biggest cause of injuries requiring hospitalisation in children. What type of fall do you think is the leading cause of injuries for children under 12 months? 1. Falling on or from straits 2. Falling while being carried 3. Falling off a bed 4. Falling while using walkers or wheeled toys (Walker, skateboards, prams etc.)

14.01.2022 In keeping with the social distancing advice during the COVID-19 pandemic all Kidsafe ACT services are now by appointment only. We will no longer be accepting drop-ins. If you would like an appointment for a car seat fitting, car seat hire, to purchase a seat from us and have it fitted, or if you have a car seat safety or general child safety question, please call us on 62902244, emails us at [email protected] or send us a privatae message and we'll be happy to help you. We are asking that wherever possible you do not bring children to the appointments. Our staff are very good at explaining how to use and adjust your car seat and we will give you Step By Step Cards to take home with you. We're also asking that adults attending the appointments be kept to 1 only.

07.01.2022 Falls from beds are the leading cause of injury requiring hospitalisation for children under 12 months. Never let your little one sleep on an adult bed and if changing bub on a bed always stay within arms reach to avoid falls.
