21.01.2022 9 Patch sample quilt, nice choice of colour, the quilt on the left is complete, with batting, backing, quilting and binding. The quilt top next to it has a darker border, as well as one darker 4, patch. Jemma is now ready to make her quilt sandwich.

16.01.2022 What's happening in the beginner quilting lessons this month. ?? We are are making. A 9 patch sample of the (Fast Four patch quilt, by " Amy Smart"), Diary of a Quilter. When the sample is completed, each student will purchase their very own pattern, with instructions.They will be guided through all the processes of making the Quilt, let's have a look at their samples so far.

12.01.2022 Well Done Jemma, you have almost completed your little sample of quilting. Jemma chose to do a zig zag stitch using multi coloured thread around her blocks. Also a contrasting blue and white binding to finish off. Jemma has now completed the hand stitching on the back.

05.01.2022 This is a great quilt to learn to sew, two of my student have started this quilt, one students has only had 2 prior sewing lessons. Lesson 1 learn to sew a straight line. As our lessons only go for an hour, it takes longer than a day, Debora is making hers into a lap quilt, to put over her knees in the cold winter months to come. Sarah is making a cot quilt for her new baby brother. If you can sew a straight line, then go ahead and try it at home, message me if you get stuc...k. By the way. I don't use spray adhesive on any of my quilts. 05.01.2022 Amy bought this cot panel from East Coast Fabrics. We needed to resize it, so Amy chose a white border for the front. We then added a bow to Micky, also gave him eye lashes. Millie's name has been stenciled, then applicaed on to the front. Most of the character's have been out lined with machine stitching. Then we added a grey backing, and a zip to the quilt cover. This is Amy's gift for a Baby shower.

03.01.2022 I just love these fabrics from Spotlight.( Nouveau Meadow) by Sandra Bowers. I have changed the layout to suit a square Lap Quilt. I have finished the top,, Now to pin the batting, and the back on to the front ( quilt sandwich). More to come

02.01.2022 Spiderman " Lap Quilt" fabrics chosen and supplies by student Bethany; aged 13 from Southport. Bethany started sewing with the 4 week beginners sewing lessons. Now she is making her first quilt. Bethany decided to choose and buy her own fabrics and notions for the lesson. let's take a look what she has done so far . Bethany has chosen Spiderman as her feature block. Her secondary choice is a blue blender, the pattern looks like little spider webs, a red fabric to border her design. The black mottle fabric is for the back. I have sold her the batting fabric for the middle. I have pre cut her fabric ready for her first quilting lesson.she has lad out her design, sewn her squairs in sets, pressed them, now she has sewn 2 rows together. Great job
