On the night you will hear from three Kids First team members including Thomas Gould, from our Sexual Abuse Counselling and Prevention Program area. Tom will be pitching for funding for Stand Up!. A groundbreaking prevention program, Stand Up! bridges the gap between existing sex education and cyber safety curriculum, bringing these issues together to explore healthy relationships and avoid exploitation and grooming. 19.01.2022 Here are some pics of the other new kindergarten in the Kids First family - welcome to Ganbu Gulinj! Located in Wollert, the Ganbu Gulinj Community Centre is part of a City of Whittlesea education and community precinct. Ganbu Gulinj is from the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung meaning "One Mob". It is our pleasure to be part of the growth of this community. We are thrilled to have a full cohort of 3 and 4 year old kindergarten kids at Ganbu Gulinj this year. We welcome the children and their families!

17.01.2022 Last week we opened two new kindergartens! Allow us to introduce you to the first of these, and some of the cosy, friendly spaces at Wallan East Family & Children's Centre, located in Mitchell Shire Council. The kindergarten is located in an area of huge growth for the community. We offer three and four year old sessions and there is also maternal and child health services on site, making it a real family hub. It was our great pleasure to meet the kinder kids and their families last week when we opened our doors.

Part of the line up for our first Virtual Event on November 24th, Kathy is a Child & Family Worker at Kids First and will be pitching for funding for Sensory kits for trauma recovery. "The families who come to our attention are those who are going through very difficult times. Accordingly, not only our clients but also their children are experiencing heightened levels of stress when we start supporting them... The sensory packs would allow us to teach and demonstrate stress-releasing strategies to both parents and children alike..." 09.01.2022 As part of the Victorian Government’s investment in kindergarten subsidies, three year old kindergarten sessions at Seymour Family & Children’s Centre are offered at no cost to families in 2021. This is an amazing opportunity for your child to develop social and play based skills to support their development. The benefits of three-year-old kinder will last into the school years and beyond.
