24.01.2022 YES WE'RE STILL SEEING CLIENTS A lot of queries have been coming through about whether or not Kids First Speech Pathology is still seeing and accepting clients. YES! We are. However we are no longer seeing clients Face to Face in clinic, in light of COVID-19 restrictions and safety measures.... All sessions are conducted via Telehealth. It's been three weeks since making the move to Telehealth and clients could not be happier! It's interactive, engaging, motivating and a useful tool to assist your child with their online learning. If you are unsure if Telehealth is suitable for your child, or not convinced that it can be effective treatment, please get in touch for a complimentary online session to show you how it works, and what it would look like for your child. 13.01.2022 Still unsure what Teletherapy looks like? We've made a short video to show you what its all about...

12.01.2022 The Australian Government has acknowledged that use of telehealth instead of face-to-face consultations is helping to stop the spread of the virus, protecting both patients and frontline health professionals, and saving lives. On 20 April, the Australian Government announced that speech pathologists are no longer required to bulk-bill any COVID-19 telehealth (video conference) and telephone consultations including services provided to children under 16, concession card holde...rs and those vulnerable to COVID-19. Speech pathologists may continue their usual billing practices and use the new telehealth item codes. 05.01.2022 CHANGES TO KIDS FIRST SPEECH PATHOLOGY Due to the continual updates and precautionary measures being enforced by NSW Health and NSW Government in regards to COVID-19, we have made the decision to cease all face to face therapy sessions as of Tuesday 24th March 12pm, until further notice. -... This means that all sessions will now be conducted by Telepractice. Telepractice is provision of therapy services via videoconferencing over the internet. This means that delivery of Speech Language Pathology professional services are provided at a distance by linking clinician to client for assessment, intervention, and/or consultation. - What you need to know: There is evidence supporting the use of online sessions for speech therapy, indicating that the services are at least as effective as standard face to face therapy. Clinicians at Kids First Speech Pathology are doing additional training in current best practice online therapy models, to ensure that they’re still providing quality, evidence based practice. Online therapy services allow people who may otherwise be unable to access therapy, to get the support they need. It also allows continuity of therapy for your child, while implementing and following Government and Health Restrictions that restrict allied health professionals, and encourage social distancing and avoiding public areas. - Confidentiality and Privacy Zoom is an end-to-end encryption program which means that no one is able to access the content of the call/meeting except those in attendance. As with all our sessions, any information provided within the session will be kept in strict confidence and comply with State and Federal Privacy Policies. If recording of any part of the session is required, we will ask your consent in advance. Any recordings will be stored securely by Kids First Speech Pathology. - Payments and Rebates Currently, Medicare and Private Health Funds do not offer rebate for online therapy appointments. The Federal government is currently reviewing funding arrangements for online therapy services, and we will let you know as soon as this changes. NDIS have no restrictions on using online therapy services with their funding. - Please contact Kids First Speech Pathology directly if you have any questions or concerns, or are unsure whether your child is suitable for Telepractice.
