22.01.2022 Here's a fun idea for the SCHOOL HOLIDAYS. Jump aboard the famous Cockle Train at Goolwa or Victor Harbor Running EVERY DAY from December 27th until the end of the school holidays... The Cockle Train operates between Goolwa and Victor Harbor with stops at Middleton and Pt Elliot - see the Steamranger website for timetable The Cockle Train is truly a unique rail journey. Starting at the Riverside town of Goolwa, where the mighty Murray River meets the rails. This section of railway track from Goolwa to Port Elliot was the first iron railway in Australia and was opened in 1854, and you can travel on it! the next section of track from Port Elliot to Victor Harbour is full of stunning views. On one side are the hills overlooking the bay! The other side is the Southern Ocean with its lovely white beaches and playful surf awaiting you to take the plunge or even just a toe. At Victor Harbour one can wander through the streets or ride the horse drawn tram on the causeway to Granite Island. This journey can be taken from both directions. No need to book! 19.01.2022 The KiA kids have been sent in to test the huge new upgraded facilities at Marion Outdoor Pool **NOW OPEN** and we rate it approximately a solid 11/10. It's epic. 12.01.2022 We spent a brilliant day up at Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary in the school holidays. What was meant to only be a couple of hours turned into a full day because there was so much to see and do. The kids absolutely LOVED it! Did you know that it's the only place on the South Australian mainland where the elusive platypus live and breed naturally? Other wildlife includes Koalas, Potoroos, Bandicoots, Bettongs, Kangaroos, Emus, Wallabies, Snakes, Lizards and more and over 100 bird... species. 09.01.2022 OK Peeps its time for a day trip to the bay! We popped down to visit one of our favourite playgrounds (especially on a nice sunny day ) down at the Glenelg Foreshore. It is a ripper with all of the sand in the world (just in case the kids didn't get enough from the beach!), water play, fab climbing equipment and slides, plus much more. But lets be honest, the mega playground is just part of a cracking day at the bay. 06.01.2022 Still looking for Christmas toy ideas for your little crew? How about something made to last for YEARS! We have just received our foldable wooden triangle after visiting Oskar's Wooden Ark right here in Adelaide a few weeks ago, and wow it is just beautiful. For the little kids who love to climb around inside and outdoors, this portable climber is just perfect and we can't wait to build onto it with all the available extensions (indoor climbing gym woo hoo!)... It is so well made too, holding up to around 50kg or so (it feels like it could hold a middle aged man just quietly) so it is perfect for the kids to climb on without any fear of it breaking. There is no guarantee at this late stage if you order now it will arrive for Christmas, but they will do their best and it might just make it in time.
