24.01.2022 Kids in the Village is STILL OPEN. The pupil free days are ONLY related to schools. Childcare is still open for service as usual. If you are not attending this week, please email or call to stay in touch. This will greatly assist in the rostering of our team at the moment. We understand that many parents in our community have had changes in their employment or are self-isolating. If this is the case for you or your partner, we strongly encourage you to apply for Additional Ch...ildcare Subsidy (ACCS) via MyGov. It may meet 100% of your fees at present. 19.01.2022 LETTER FOR PARENTS AND EDUCATORS 26th March 2020 Dear Parents and Educators, Today, the Premier Annastasia Palaszczuk and Education Minister Grace Grace have announced that all Schools in Queensland will be ‘Pupil Free’ as of Monday 30th March for children other than essential workers. Ms Palaszczuk stressed that essential workers are those who are currently in our workforce, not just police officers and hospital staff. ... While the media is keeping everyone informed, it is causing some stress for families with incorrect or misinformation. We would like to reassure you that during this time, we will remain open and provide care to our children. Our decision to remain open, at this stage is based on advice that children should, while they can, continue with their normal routines in a safe and caring environment. We also acknowledge that families in our community are under a great deal of stress and to add the additional burden of arranging care for essential workers is not ideal. We are continuing our hygiene practices, including disinfecting surfaces like door handles, regular hand washing for children and adults and rotating toys out of classrooms so we can sanitize them more frequently. We will continue to be advised and informed by the State Authority on any closure in the future. Our Educators are doing an amazing job and our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our people, and the children in our care. Please continue to monitor media outlets for updates and visit www.health.gov.au for advice. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this subject, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Stay Safe, Kelli Skelton Centre Manager

At this stage, as you may have heard in the media, childcare centres will remain open as an essential service within the community. We are not exploring voluntary closure at this stage and will only be guided by Government decisions and that of the Public Health Unit. Having said that, the viability of t...Continue reading
