09.01.2022 The miniature railway in Matthews Park will be alive to the sounds of children enjoying train rides on Saturday 13 October. Orange Society of Model Engineers is holding its monthly public running day from 1-5pm at the park. Parents, grandparents and children are invited to join in the fun. A variety of trains will be running throughout the afternoon. It will be a special day with displays arranged by the Orange and District Historical Society. These include miniature steam... engines, railway memorabilia and photos of how the railways used to be. Train ride along the park’s miniature railway line cost just $2 per passenger. As well, there will be a sausage sizzle, cakes, slices, other sweet treats and cold drinks. Proceeds from the day will be donated to Orange and District Historical Society, whose members will be volunteering on the day. 01.01.2022 BATHURST, Heads up y'all!! Parts of the Adventure Playground will be closed from Monday, 12 November for repair works to rubber softfall. Staged works will occur near the carousel and adjacent swing bay, the giant slide, flying fox bay, sandpit and small slide. The areas will reopen once the softfall has cured and dried. Works are expected to take one week.
