23.01.2022 This week in Kinder we have seen many children engaging in self portrait drawing. It has been amazing to see their perceptions of what they see drawn on paper. This experience has also allowed our educators and kinder teacher time to engage with children one on one and learn more about each child

21.01.2022 Incorporating technology into our program is important to allow children to investigate and explore how technology works. The forms of technology we incorporate into our environment don’t have to be in working order, using old forms of technology like this phone allows children to explore what it is used for whilst engaging their imagination

19.01.2022 We recently added an adult sized table into the art space in the kinder room. This was added to bring a more homely feel to the room, the children are loving the addition of this table and we often see it filled with children engaging in art and craft work

19.01.2022 This experience has been set up in the Kinder room, it has been an amazing addition to the room. This morning we have observed children sitting with great concentration for long periods of time as they place the resources along the drawn lines and shapes. This experience was set to encourage the children to further develop their fine motor skills but there are an abundance of learning opportunities that can occur at this experience

18.01.2022 This morning some of the children from Kinder picked the apples from our trees around the centre. Tomorrow they will be making a delicious apple pie

17.01.2022 The Risk Takers room have changed up their lightbox space and created an area based on children’s interest. Many of the children have shown an interest in exploring dinosaurs as well as literacy. So in this space they can engage with dinosaurs as well as discover letters on the fossils that have been created. We love this set up and how it instantly sparks your interest

17.01.2022 The kinder children are attempting a 200 piece puzzle, it is a challenge they have taken on and are working very slowly at it as a group. We have seen children and educators visit the puzzle table over the past week and try to add a piece or two at a time to the puzzle. This experience supports children’s ability to collaborate with others, show persistence when challenges arise and be resilient when errors are made. We cannot wait to see this puzzle completed.

11.01.2022 The children in the Risk Takers room expressed interest in potion making outdoors last week. This morning the educators in the room have created this space for the children to engage with their interest using natural resources. We cannot wait to see what the children create

It was a great way to capture the children’s voice in this program. One child cut out this picture of the roast when asked why she cut this out her response was roast chicken and vegetables is healthy
