23.01.2022 Meet Squid Mons-topus! While making him, we worked on using two hands together, force gradation required to roll a sausage, hand and shoulder strength to squash the play dough flat, scissor skills to snip little pieces to make his bumpy monster-y face, knife skills to cut strips, hand strength and separation of the two sides of the hand to squeeze the playdough pasta maker. So much fine motor development in one activity. 14.01.2022 In today’s Social Foodies group, we made chicken and veg stir fry and choc chip cookies. The stir fry was a little challenging for some with the different textures, assorted veg and strong flavours of garlic and soy sauce but we worked through the SOS Steps to Eating. The kids all interacted with the foods, smelled it, touched it, some licked and took small bites and some big bites.
