For our new and old tribe, here are some things you may or may not know about me:... I started Kids Tribe almost 5 years ago and have always had a keen interest in fashion. I have always been eco conscious. My post graduate university dissertation was on environmental consciousness in consumers. I’m a keen reader but only really started enjoying reading in my twenties. I like to travel and explore new places - getting to know people’s story and understanding the way different cultures live. I love to run and do yoga and find it very therapeutic for my busy mind. Our girls have played with it for years now. Sometimes it’s a kitchen. Sometimes it’s a shop. Fun is always had, and that’s a beautiful thing. 14.01.2022 r o l e p l a y Anyone else have their kids spend most of their day in a world of make believe and role play? When our girls are not at school they spend so much time pretending to be mums, sick patients, babies, dogs, expecting mothers and teenagers (these last two are new ones ). I secretly love it. I adore hearing the chat that happens when they play these games. I often want to record it to play back to them when theyre older - but as soon as they see me, they stop. 14.01.2022 r o l l w i t h i t Ive been so impressed at how, in the face of such huge change and upheaval, we - in particular our children, have rolled with the punches, or is it pandemic. Yet another example of how resilient we are. Even though, at times, it feels too hard, we are surviving and thats pretty incredible. So today, instead of focusing on what we can longer do, where we can longer travel, who we can no longer see, lets give ourselves a pat on the back for being resilient and surviving this thing called life. My heart has never known such emotion, such pride, such selflessness. The absolute adoration... and the part of my heart that will always belong to them. To be a parent is one of the greatest gifts of my life. Being loved is what they will know, above anything else. This past weekend I ran my first marathon. It was a bucket list item and a race I did in honor of my mother who passed away from MS when I was in my mid twenties. Since my race I have received so many beautiful messages from friends, family and our followers. Let me tell you one thing, this mama feels very loved. Thank you.
