25.01.2022 The importance of teaching kids empathy! http://www.mindful.org/teach-empathy-preschoolers/

22.01.2022 It's important to provide feedback! And there are different types of feedback. Have a go at Strength based praise (SEEC) - once you mastered it - try using the model to provide constructive feedback as well. Generic Praise: Well done! (it’s broad and helps people know something they did worked) Process Praise: Isa, you really did well when making your friends card, you planned it well and spaced the words pictures perfectly.... Character Praise (Person Praise): Eli you’re very helpful, thank you! Strength Based Praise: It is a mixture of process praise, character praise and connection to emotions. How? When their using their strengths appropriately, it helps them create positive emotions. Strength Based Praise: Adi, you were very kind, when you shared your toys with Eli. It made her feel included and cared about. Keep being so kind and caring. **HUG**

19.01.2022 Some strength questions I use... - What strength did you use today? - Who did you enjoy playing with today, what strengths did they use? - Who overused a strength, what happened? - What strengths do you think your teacher used?... For the little one's...it's less about a question and more about feedback and modelling: - You were kind when....example, effect - You were brave when....example, effect - When you do X it is showing too much (love) an you're smothering your sister. Please stop and ask if she is ok.

17.01.2022 Thinking about learning more about your child's strengths? A good place to start is to understand your strengths and how you use them every day.

17.01.2022 Do you recognise the strengths of your children? The talents you're child possess at the age of three, are the talents they have at 26. Just imagine your child's potential if we help them identify and develop them early!

09.01.2022 The first place you can learn about strengths is with yourself. I love watching Isa in various interactions and then talking about her strengths. you can see that it makes her feel so special.

09.01.2022 Isa and I have been doing Yoga at home and now she's doing it at school too. So fabulous to blow up our belly balloons, breath in some fresh air and do some poses together.

06.01.2022 Tonight we changed the conversation with the big kids. Let's talk about strengths! We used VIA Character Strengths and Strengths Explorer to help understand their strengths and talents, shared stories of what they look like in action and think about how they can help them in the future. It's a leap for some kids to take on this conversation but you can see inside the light of having their strengths recognised through a different lens.

05.01.2022 A colleague passed this link onto me today - what a wonderful school environment. https://inhabitat.com/new-school-in-india-will-prioritize-/

04.01.2022 Choose a routine activity and commit to using one of your signature strengths for that activity across a week. You can use the strength in the same way or different ways. Make the plan at the beginning of the week so you know what to do each day! Do this with your kids too it’s really fun!... To learn your character strengths, please click the link below to register and take the VIA Strengths Survey. http://thrivingorgs.pro.viasurvey.org (please save your profile so you have a copy!)
