25.01.2022 Its photos time! With the current Covid challenge we arent allowing non-essential visitors in our centre but we still wanted to ensure our little people get their kinder photos... lucky we have Educator Kate! Kate used to run a photography business so she is spending all week taking individual and group photos of our little people .... We are then going to get them professionally printed and create a beautiful Christmas present for all our families... free of charge !

19.01.2022 Apologies in advance for the lengthy post. A wise person once said being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional. Kids World has faced the challenge of Covid-19 over the last two weeks. Many may know we had a family of three that all spent time here, then be informed that a close contact of theirs had tested positive to the virus... they later found out that they too were positive. ... Once we knew; an overwhelming feeling of dread took over. This awful virus that dominates the media, takes lives and ruins communities, had been in our centre, had been in our life. The next 48 hours were torture. Frustration, anger, confusion, and hopelessness took hold of our lives. We were on the phone all day, everyday, trying our best to communicate with families, staff, DHHS, DET, cleaners, Worksafe- the list goes on and on. Sleep was a distant memory. Then, hope returned. We instructed all staff and encouraged all families to get tested. We are not normally religious but we prayed, we prayed to whoever would listen that our community would be safe. One test, negative. Two tests, negative. 20 tests, negative. Our own and our own childrens tests, negative. It has now been over two weeks since the virus entered, and left our centre and still, every test, negative. A miracle? Maybe. Strong hygiene and social distancing practices we implemented? Wed like to think so. We may never know exactly how we escaped with 0 transmission within Kids World, but this experience has inspired us to build a fortress against this virus in the hope it never enters again. The reason that lightning doesnt strike twice in the same place is because the place is no longer there, it is different. Even though we had many practices in place to keep the virus out (temperature checks on arrival, less visitors and many more) it was still able to enter. To combat this we have added more, robust practices such as security questions and entrance drop offs/pickups. We are going to do everything in our power to keep it from impacting our community again. 15 days since the virus was last in Kids World and 15 days of negative test results. We are so happy to be back at work with our team, children and supporting our families. Be happy in this moment, because this moment is a part of your life. Please stay safe everyone and look after one another. The Kids World family

These guys always do a great job of keeping our lawns looking schmick!
