21.01.2022 Happy Thanksgiving! What are you most grateful for in your life?
21.01.2022 Who loves to cool down on a warm day ?, and yes we started off with hats, however as children do, they pull them off, sun cream was applied and we weren't out for to long. #vitamenDisourfriend
15.01.2022 Clay is a type of fine-grained natural soil material which as you heard "can get dry" add some water and get those phalanges moving.
12.01.2022 Our Jarjums (children) were immersed in clay play, rolling, shaping, pounding, printing leaves. They experimented with what happens to the clay when you use a lot of water or a little.

04.01.2022 Dear Parents of the children in the Gumnut room, I'm loving my time in the room with your children. I'm writing out the recognitions I say to your children , then sending them home for you to read them to your child. I still have quite a few to do however I will get there. So make sure you look through their bag for a Certificate of Greatness. There are descriptive words which name the qualities I see them using, one of the children asked what some of the words meant, this was such an awesome opportunity to open up some meaningful discussion about what a word means. All children in our service experience The Nurtured Heart Approach, I am just making it more visible to parents. #buildinginnerwealth #nurturedheartapproach
04.01.2022 Don't believe the myths, Mama! Don't believe that you need to separate from your baby or child to teach independence! Don't believe that you... need to punish your child to teach a 'good' manners or 'acceptable' beahviour. Don't believe that you need to train your baby to sleep in order for them to learn how to self-soothe. It's all bullshit. It's all based on cultural ideals. It's outdated nonsense. As Maya Angelou says, Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better. We know better now. Science knows better. The skill of self-soothing is a developmental milestone that cannot be rushed. And I'd argue it's not really a skill that is ever used 100% of the time by anyone - sometimes as an adult, I can self-soothe. Other times I can't! Actually most of the time I can't. I talk to my husband, I hug it out, I read a book, I make myself a cup of tea. So, yes I want my son to be able to self-regulate his emotions and as a seven-year-old he is doing that more and more...at his own pace. But what I want most is for him to know that there are people that care about him, that he can rely on to be here for him unconditionally - no questions asked! Day or night! I want him to know that we take care of each other. That we believe in interdependence. That there is never anything he can do that would stop me caring for him. So don't worry about the BS that floats around our culture. Hug those babies. Hold those toddlers. Make space for big feelings. Work on your own triggers. Grow alongside your children. It's a beautiful journey of consciousness they're taking you on! #raisedgood Quote: @australianpsychologist See more
02.01.2022 Attention Queenslanders We're in for some warm days. Let this be an important reminder that the temperature under the canopy of an enclosed pram can be up to 15 degrees hotter than outside Keep your baby cool and seek shade.
