14.01.2022 Happy Early Childhood Educators Day to the amazing Team Forrest Street. Our staff wear many hats. They are teachers carers comforters... cooks cleaners doctors friends And many more. Being an ECE is a tough job but also the most rewarding in the world. We are blessed with an outstanding team of dedicated educators at LPP Forrest St. This year they have stood up and shown their true colours working through a global pandemic, putting the safety and security of our little people above their own needs and fears. As a director, I never take for granted how lucky I am to lead this group of legends. They deserve every bit of gratitude, praise and rewards they receive today and every day. Lots of love Lindsey Xxx #littlepeoplesplace #EarlyChildhoodEducatorsDay #lovemyECE See more

10.01.2022 Fire Evacuation Drill Today the children took part in the monthly fire evacuation drill. Educator Emily and one of the toddler children discovered the fire which was located by the kitchen. Emily quickly sounded the alarm to alert everyone of the fire. The educators and children evacuated the centre through the emergency exits to assembly point 1. We had evacuated the building safely in an impressive 2 minutes 46 seconds. We waited until the all clear was given before entering the building again. Well done everyone. #littlepeoplesplace #earlylearning #daycare #family #Perthlife #mtlawley #firedrill

05.01.2022 Harvest Today was an exciting day for our kindy friends. One of the children was investigating the veggie plant pots that educator Heni helped them to make a couple of months ago. The child suggested that the peas looked ready to pick. The children, supported by their educators picked the veggies - carrots and peas. They brought them to the kitchen and helped to prepare them before enjoying them in their lunch of Thai green curry. Well done friends you should be so proud! #littlepeoplesplace #perth #homegrown

02.01.2022 Germs- Pepper experiment Today the kindy children undertook a science experiment to demonstrate just how powerful soap is to remove germs at handwashing. Using pepper to act as the germs educator Helena added it to water on a plate. It was clear the pepper (germs) was floating all over the plate (hands). To show how effective soap is I added some to a cotton tip. Helena dipped it into the water and the germs (pepper) moved away to the edge of the plate. The children were amazed at how quick the germs moved. The children made predictions about what would happen to the pepper when the soap was added to the water. Most of them made the correct prediction showing their knowledge of good hygiene practices. #littlepeoplesplace #daycare #earlylearning #family #Perthlife #mtlawley #germs #science
