23.01.2022 Kidz Dreamz - more than just a Toy Storage Box We have a goal here at Kidz Dreamz. We want to be able to enable children and teenagers to be able to meet their dreams. Sounds fancy and fluffy, right? Why would we bother? When i was a Scout Leader, every 3 years i would see our 11-15 year olds attend a 2 week long camp, called a Jamboree. The youth would be in teams of 6 members called Patrols, and complete activities across the 12 day camp. These would range from cooking... and cleaning the kitchen for 42 Troop members, problem solving activities, and also fun activities as well! The amount of development these youth members would receive in just 2 weeks was staggering. A child that was shy and had always hidden behind mum or dad, now would confidently say goodbye to mum when coming to Scout meetings. A child that was always the quiet one, would now have leadership skills and qualities that they could use for the rest of their lives. It couldn't be attended by all Scouts however, due to the cost. And the ones who would benefit the most, were the ones who usually missed out. 22.01.2022 Happy International Polar Bear Day! I found some info on Polar Bears, and International Polar Bear Day is to raise awareness about them. Polar Bear International is a group run by conservationists, scientists, and volunteers working to educate the public about the effects of climate change on the Arctic region. More specifically, they focus on how global warming is slowly destroying the habitat of polar bears and adversely affecting their population.... Reduced Food Source Despite being the largest carnivores on land, polar bears largely rely on seals for food. Shorter ice seasons and melting sea ice mean seals, who rely on ice to raise their young, are becoming scarcer. This is leaving polar bears without a ready source of food. Lack of food is also forcing polar bears to venture into areas populated by humans, making them vulnerable to attacks from residents and hunters. Vulnerable to Diseases Rising temperatures, loss of weight, and lack of nutrition due to lack of food has also meant that polar bears are now becoming vulnerable to previously unknown diseases. Scientists believe all of these factors have caused a severe decline in polar bear populations, and if the trend continues global warming could potentially lead to the extinction of the species. Effects of Human Activity Human activity, including the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, is considered by scientists as the primary cause of global warming. Did You Know that polar bears are black and not white? Their fur is transparent while their skin is black. 22.01.2022 MORE MONEY? OR MORE FREE TIME? Which would you choose? For me, i guess i can see the benefit of more money, as if it is budgeted well, we can convert it into a passive income, so that i can create free time. But being time poor, more free time would be beneficial. I have a list of movies in my phone, that when i see the trailer, i make a note of it so that i can go back and watch it later on. I started this list a good 4 years ago, and i have seen maybe 5 movies off it. ...More free time would be good to start to erode this list. What is your choice? Money or free time?

Mr. W loves the Train Book, which comes with a wind up train and 3 short stories that we can read to him, and he then gets to wind up the train and put it on the track in the book. He has worn out the winding mechanism from running it around on the tracks! It is a great, fun way to be able to get into the habit of reading to your child at bed time....
