12.01.2022 S + J - hospo crew we see you! When these two came to us with their ideas, what really shone through was their love for food, family, gathering and their hospitality careers. Owning a Italian style restaurant sent me straight to thoughts of herbs coupled with wooden elements. It stuck with me and this is where we ended up! 10.01.2022 Today is World Autism Awareness Day and the start of Autism Awareness Month in Australia. This is so close to my heart. I have an incredible human in my life who identifies as cool man but also ASD. It’s a tough ride for anyone in this crazy world we live in, but this kid takes it in his stride, blowing my mind daily. I was told to never expect a life for him without a huge amount of carer support. And whilst that’s true to some extent, he has blown those around him away... by navigating some situations and tasks that we were told don’t bother. You’ll see him working alongside me over coming months as I guide him in working, earning a living and social situations. These are so important. So say hi, prepare to learn all of mine craft in 2.2 minutes flat and be blown away by his manners too. I’m so proud. So as the world goes blue I always encourage people at this time of year to learn more, educate themselves on Autism and the spectrum in which it presents, support the charities and agency’s supporting families like mine (we need more SA gov!) how your family or workplace can encourage these incredible humans, bringing light to their incredible talents and we can end the isolation and stigma that a human on this journey (but also a family) does experience whilst living in this crazy, lovely wacky world. #neurodiversity #autismawareness #inclusiveworkplace #asd #adelaideevents
